BOWLING BIRTHDAY PARTY

Happy Birthday David and Joyce
Today we celebrated their birthdays with a bowling party.
David turned 3 on June 28 and Joyce will be 10 July 1.
We all loved the party.. great job!

Jane took pictures too

We got David a "Cars" DVD of his own, and a blow up "CARS" chair.. The boys loved the idea.

Joyce blowing out candles

Joyce sent me an email not too long ago asking if we could make 'cookie-pops'.. I told her
we'd try, and then found this pan and the sticks.. Yippee! We are going to make a cookie bouquet!

$600 MILLION IN SURPLUS

I keep wondering what our government is up to... In PA there is a $600 million surplus in the treasury. I read tonite from a Representative, that the governor is wanting to raise income taxes this year and increase the load on the populace. Why? I keep asking myself that question. I just don't get it. We should be given back our overpayments by lowering the taxes, not raising them.. What is going on here? Anyone have a guess?
Seems to me that the government federal and state are getting awfully bloated.. and now they want more???
What might be next?

ANOTHER WAY TO LOOK AT IT

I just got the calculator out. I've got 30 weeks left before my retirement.. and gainful employment there is 82 days dependent on the last week- how they schedule me. I plan to be an employee till Jan 31st which is a Thursday. My last possible physically employed day would be Jan 29th- a Tuesday. Of course, I may have some vacation time remaining and then that 82 days may be some less. WOOHOO!!!
On to Friday ....

OH, LOOK!

My little train is just a chuggin' down that track- 217 days to go !!! WOOOOHOOOO!!!!!

It's Friday.. the weekend is nearly upon us. Today I am gainfully employed again.. this time by the hospital. I need to figure how many more hospital days I have to work. That will make things even more wonderful.
Or maybe how many more WEEKS to go.. oh, boy.. on my way.. the countdown is moving along.

Lest I begin whining about my aching back.. I'll just end things right here. Have a super de duper day, bloggers.
Remember it's Friday.. Yippee !!!
Remember to pray for our congress and our leaders.. and pray for us also.

LAKE BLAIR RISES AGAIN

As I write, we have been having a terrific thunderstorm capable (so the report says) of 60mph winds, cloud to ground lightning, and nickel sized hail. I didnt' see much lightning, but the wind blew hard for a while and the rain came straight down and has filled Lake Blair to capacity+.. and it's still raining. Wonderful wet rain.

It reminded me of one of the Psalms I have been reading..
Psalm 147:7-8
"Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving; make music to our God on the harp.
He covers the sky with clouds, he supplies the earth with rain and makes grass grow on the hills."

We are so blessed to have a loving God who sends rain and makes the plants grow.

I had a kind of rough day today. I thought I had PT this morning and the rest of the day to myself. Ahem...I was mistaken. One of my routines I do every morning is look at my calendar to see what I have scheduled for myself. Good thing I was faithful about this today. I had a dental appointment at 11:20am, and PT scheduled for 2:15pm. I went to the dentist and had my teeth cleaned. Oh, that has to be the best feeling.. She said I had a minute cavity on one of my teeth that she wants to correct. That'll be in September. She's a busy dentist. Then, we discussed the 2 teeth that have chipped. Not badly, but chipped nonetheless.. and I've decided to go ahead and have them crowned. My insurance is fabulous and pays for nearly the whole thing. With retirement coming up in January, I figure I'd better get this done before they give out in February next year. The hygenist mentioned to me that it is always so nice when I come in for cleaning.. she has little to do. I am very good about flossing several times a day and brushing at least twice a day.

I got out of the dentist's office at 1pm. We had just enough time to get home and get a sandwich and go to PT. We made a plan to help Amy get her van.. everything in order. But on the way home, my stomach started to complain, and by the time I was home, I was feeling rather ill. We got in the car before dry heaves changed my mind about going to PT.. I called them even as I sat in the car. It was 30 minutes before my scheduled appointment. I was hard pressed to know what to do, but one thing sure.. I didn't want to puke in the PT office.
So I cancelled and went directly to bed. I must have been there 45 seconds when the phone rang and I had to get some needed information out in the kitchen for the office.. and then back to bed for another 45 seconds till I had to get up and put the windows up in my car when I heard crashing thunder... Wendell asked Jane to watch the grandkids while he took Amy to get the van. Boy,.. I was bummed. I really wanted to see the kids today.
But I didn't want to pass to them what I guess I got from Wendell, as he was sick yesterday.

I'm feeling much better tonite.. the nausea has passed totally. I ate supper.

Tomorrow is office and it is a busy schedule. I am looking forward to it and have paperwork to complete tonite before I go in. All the patients have been called and alerted to their appointments. I look forward to seeing them all.

I'll be moving along now. The storm seems to have passed. I can blow out my storm candle.

Oh.. one more item. I have a new blog called Jemit Kids.. it's all pictures of our children growing up and even now. I like the idea. I tried to put the photos on the one called Our children , but apparently I gave it another password, and can't re-access it. So the new blog and the old are both there. Enjoy ! Leave comments if you wish, but remember they are moderated by me, so they don't appear until I say they will. It protects the blog from spam.. and I had a lot of it at first.

Have a great evening bloggers!
Pray for our congress that they make the right choice against amnesty. and Pray for us too..

9pm TUESDAY RAMBLING..

It's been a really fast day.. I got up at 6am and here it is 9pm already. I can't believe it went as fast as it did. I was not gainfully employed today , but did have errands to run and groceries to purchase, and PT too.
I started out by getting a grip on the office schedule for tomorrow. I'm learning who I can infuse and who I can't when the dear doctor isn't in the office. I've been doing it wrong all this time and didn't know it.. and he's losing money over it. So sorry.. I can only plead ignorance of insurance laws,.
When that was all settled, I took Wendell to the bank and then to brunch.. stopped to pick up another bottle of Strattera, and when I pulled away from the pharmacy, he said he was sick and thought he'd puke. So I took him back home. He's okay tonite.. just a queasy tummy I suppose.
I had done some decluttering in the living room before we left.. that's the room that will get most of the emphasis this week. When we came home, Mandy and John had been shopping and the evidence was there in the living room. Well, till we have a real pantry, that's the way it will be... not really a problem.. but could be better.

I went to PT for a 4pm appt, and was having some degree of pain in the small of my back and over into the right hip.. My PTA worked on it with TENS,ice, ultra sound and then massage.. but it hurt still.. It wasn't till he physically pulled both my legs to the left that the SI joint popped and I had immediate relief. Amazing. What I need is a live-in PT/PTA to do that when it pops out.

So the routine stuff is almost done.. still have to lay out tomorrow's clothes and then read my 6 chapters of Psalms. I am so enjoying that. I've already brushed my teeth, made tomorrow's coffee and , of course, shined my sinks, and layed out new clean towels. Ah... that's the ticket!

Tomorrow is another day- more PT in the morning and then concentrating on the living room getting it cleaned up.. hitting the hot spots. Perhaps a couple of 15' hot spots in the bedroom, and I'm not going to try to do much else. I may start going through some boxes of pictures to send on to other family members who will appreciate them like I do.. no, no one appreciates them more than I do.. but they will love them too.
In the mean time, I will be posting more to the IMM-BEST CONNECTION blog, so keep watching..
Remember to pray.. and to pray for us. We do so appreciate that.

I have added more photos to the IMM-BEST CONNECTION. Take a look... *smile*

The question was raised regarding where my statistics on abortion came from.. please read on:

http://www.abortionno.org/Resources/fastfacts.html

77 Degrees here.. should be 83 for a high.. sunny.. partly cloudy..with a chance of a thunderstorm.. well.. that's business as usual. It's a lovely day..
I've already dusted the entire living room in less than 15'.. good job! I'd pat myself on the back, but I'd likely get hurt in the process.. so suffice it to say.. I'm proud of myself.. My AM routines are done and I'm relaxing.
Gainful employment awaits me this afternoon.. the last one of the weekend. I'm tired. I seemed to have so much energy yesterday.. but it started to dwindle down about 7pm.. but 11:30pm.. I was feeling exhausted. Must be my wild schedule I keep. No complaints here though.. just comments... I'm doing fairly well keeping my end up.
It really is a good thing I'm planning retirement-( 221 days today) I just can't seem to be alert enough after 9pm. I'd go to bed with the chickens if I could.. but then, no, I wouldn't. I'd be up reading or something else interesting to me.

The upstairs bathroom is on it's way to being refurbished. John has been working hard on getting the tub leak fixed and then the shower prepared. Mandy waited up for me last night to tell me she'd finally gotten a shower upstairs yesterday. She was so thrilled. It has been years since the leaky drain was fixed and John did it in good style. My leaky kitchen sink drain is repaired too.. no more leaks! AMEN.

On to other things.. Wendell is doing well aside from a little arthritis in his elbow and shoulder for which he takes Celebrex. It seems to help. I've got PT 2 days this week again and look forward to it.. it also helps and my back is holding up. AMEN again!

Not much newsy going on today.. so go out and enjoy the sunshine.. it's a great day!
Pray for us...

JEMIT'S IMM-BEST CONNECTIONS

Okay.. on a whim.. I have posted to the Imm-Best connection. It's a full genealogy of both families.. Imm first, then Best (saving the Best for last????) oooooo...hhhhhh .... bad joke.
Anyway.. click on the right side of this blog on "IMM-BEST CONNECTION" and you'll see what I'm referring to.
Have fun! And as always, feel free to comment or make corrections at any point..Marilyn

IT WAS A LONG DAY

Saturday was a very very long day. I got up at 6am. It's now 1am Sunday. I wanted to post the best picture I had of my brother and sister in law.. This is me with Carol and Bill before we left this morning for the funeral.
They left for Indianapolis right after the service. We enjoyed having them.. just wish my schedule hadn't been so tight. We shall hope to make a trip north in the near future..

I wasn't late for work, but got there with time to spare. We had lunch at the VFW in Lower Burrell and Jane and I got to chat a while over salad, chicken, and the delicious fare put on by the women there. We were so glad to be able to visit with family, though, as I said once before, I wish it were for some other occasion.
Jane took pictures at the graveside.. she has a number of them.. very good. Hop on over to her blog to view them.. I'll not be posting them here.

Work was tedious and seemed to go on forever. I was so tired and weary. I'll likely sleep in till 9am tomorrow.
My sinks are shining. The clutter is starting to creep up, so next week I'll be hitting that a bit harder on my days off.. 15' at a time.
Gotta go to bed.. pray for us..

QUIET DAY

It's been a busy but quiet day. This morning I went to PT and did my exercises with mostly ease. There is one that causes my left hip to complain, so I do very few of them, but all the others are in good form.
I worked on my office schedule too, and when Mandy got up she wanted to go to the funeral home and needed us to go along.. which we did. It is so good to see so many of the family together, though I'd prefer a wedding or happier occasion.
We stopped at a favorite pizza place in Natrona Heights to have an early supper, and then on to home- Mandy had to work.
I finished getting my schedule straight for next week, and then decided to go outside and sit on the swing.. It was then that I went for the camera and decided to take a walk around the yard..It ended up a walk around the perimeter and I did well. I took photos of the wild life here and the flowers..

This is actually a flower box at the end of the house.. These beautiful littlel gems are supposed to love a lot of sunlight, but they are in the shade most of the day. They seem to be thriving .. The green leaves right up front on the picture is my peony plant. I only have one, and every year it blooms one flower. Mandy doesn't like the plant because it has to have ants to open the bud up.

On the porch is a pot of plants given to me by my boss for National Nurses' week.. It was in a much smaller pot when I brought it home, but it grew so fast it needed a bigger pot not long after.

Pansies.. aren't they just the cutest things? They are also in a pot at the other side of the porch. I think their faces are so sweet.

At the end of the driveway is a huge tractor tire with our house number on a rock in the midst of it. Behind it is a trellis and the climatus grows there. This is the first flower of the season. It's a beauty.

On the picnic table sets 2 more pots, but these ones are salad tomatoes and the 2 plants are loaded with them. It's hard to wait for them to turn red.

A WALK AROUND THE PERIMETER

I took a walk around the perimeter. Flowers are blooming and are so beautiful. Spring/Summer is so wonderful, don't you think?

These are day lilies.. they line the driveway at the trailer.. so lovely and thick.

This plant is called Purple Foxglove, aka, digitalis plant. It's a toxic one. It is used for heart problems.. of course, we don't use it for that purpose- but just to admire the beauty of the plant.

I think the Brown Eyed susans have such personality.. they almost look like they are trying to communicate..
"Pick me!! Pick me!!

Bachelor buttons grow on the far end of the garden. Sometimes I see them growing wild along the road.

This is the beginning of what will be a spectacular garden I'm sure. I had the sun behind me so my shadow is in the picture too.. but you get the idea. All the cages are protecting the tomato plants from preditors- deer mainly.
Off in the distance is the briar patch where the groundhogs live..
