Feb 2017 Valentine visit-family fun
The Valentines came for a visit in February. We decided to have a family fun night at the Zombecks. It was so much fun. We played the saran wrap ball game..everyone a winner!
John Anderson White
AGE: 75 • Rumson NJ
John White passed away at the Morristown Medical Center on Saturday, February 4, 2017 in Morristown, NJ. He was in a loving environment, surrounded by friends and family. John was born in Penn Twp., PA and resided in Hightstown, NJ before moving to Rumson, NJ in 2000. Mr. White was employed as an Education and Budget Analyst by the State of New Jersey, Office of Legislative Services, at the Statehouse in Trenton and retired in 2000 after over 25 yrs. of service to the State. He subsequently served as a business administrator to several school districts in Monmouth and Mercer Counties. He was a board member of Right Your Life, an organization that promotes alternative education for teenagers dealing with drug addiction.. He also received his bachelors & masters degrees from Rutgers University. John was a dedicated sports fan of Rutgers football and basketball. Mr. White was pre-deceased by his parents, Keith & Ethel White and a grandson, John (Dylan) White. He is survived by his sons, Robert White of Vineland, NJ, Keith White of Hightstown, NJ and Sean & wife Joyce White of Palmer, Alaska, and a daughter, Tara White of Glendale, CA. along with 2 grandchildren, Clayton & Anna White. He is also survived by his companion of over 17 yrs, Lynne Strickland of Rumson, NJ and her sons, David & wife Kirstin Strickland of Portland, Oregon, and Nick & wife Maura Strickland of Union City, NJ and with her grandchildren, Norah, Mae & Thomas Strickland who loved their "Grandpa John" dearly.. John also had many loving friends and relatives in the Penn Twp. area, PA, New Jersey & New Hampshire. He will be sorely missed. His was a presence of enthusiasm, love, humor and intellect. He delighted in working in the country on his tractor. The well-being of children was ever-present in his heart and mind. At the convenience of the family, a Memorial Celebration will be scheduled at a later date in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Philani Fund USA (www.philanifundusa.org) which supports child health, nutrition and education for impoverished children of Cape Town and rural areas of South Africa, or "Team Le Grand" (www.teanlegrand.org) of the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation for achieving victory over paralysis. Posten's Funeral Home, Atlantic Highlands, NJ is in charge of arrangements.

Dad's memorial service will be held at the Rutgers' Kirkpatrick Chapel next Sunday, February 19th at 10am.
Gifts in John's memory may be made to "The J. Dylan White Foundation" (137 East Ward Street, Hightstown, NJ 08520) or the GoFundMe site of the same name. The foundation was established in memory of Dad's namesake and beloved grandson who passed in 2015.

Amanda Lee Best, 29, of New Harmony, Utah, passed March 5, 2017.
She was born November 5, 1987 in Fontana, California, and was raised in Rancho Cucamonga, California.
She was the youngest child of Warren and Victoria Best.
Amanda's passions were singing, school, and music.
Amanda attended Chaffey College and completed all but one degree requirement for Associates of Arts degrees in music, fine arts with an emphasis in music and commercial music.
She enjoyed playing the piano and singing in her church choirs and in college concerts.
She enjoyed crocheting, reading, and animals.
She was known for her crocheted hats, scarves, and minions.
She was always reading a book.
She loved her golden retrievers as well as taking care of others' animals.
Amanda was a unique soul; she will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her father and mother, Warren and Victoria Best; her sister Christine Krommenhoek and husband Max; her brother and sister in law Robert and Allison Best, and her aunts, uncle, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by grandparents Robert and Marjorie Best, and Albert and Dorothy Gyger.
Amanda was laid to rest on March 14, 2017 with family and close friends at Forest Lawn in Covina Hills, California.
Memorial services were held on March 10 in Kanarraville Utah, and March 14,2017 in Alta Loma California. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Amanda's name to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) at nami.org
