It was a fabulous weekend.. how wonderful that the Valentines were able to spend a weekend with us.
The grandkids are growing up entirely too fast as you can see with my previous posts..
Twice we had a family breakfast using our 'good china'. That which came from the Phillipines when Wendell was in Viet Nam. It's gorgeous, but hasn't be used much as our children were growing up- it was for "special" occasions, but they really never got to use it much. So I'm turning over a new leaf, and we shall eat on the good china every chance we get.
We used paper plates Sunday afternoon when we had a mob here for a spaghetti dinner. Thankfully Kye got the deck under roof and we were able to put 2 banquet tables end to end + our kitchen table and a card table indoors. We had enough places to sit- it was really nice. I ate outside on the deck with the kids.
This morning there was a huge big red splotch on the deck. It actually looked like someone bled out- but as I was cleaning it up, I realized it was just a little bit of red velvet cake from Sunday.. sigh of relief here.
Asher took me up and down the deck stairs. He's pretty good at it now. I remember my mother teaching my own children how to go up and down stairs. She always said it was better they learned the right way than to discover one of the children at the bottom in a heap because they didn't know how. She was right.
It rained tonite. We were dry as toast on the deck- the roof doesn't leak. Not that I thought it would, but it is water tight.
Enjoy the pictures... I love looking at them too. :)

the deck and roof
It's been a while again since I last blogged. I spend my pc time on Facebook, so I don't have "extra" time. We are watching our new deck addition and roof go atop it. It seems like it takes forever, but actually, the handyman has taken only 2 days to put this much roof over the deck he added while we were visiting Valentines this month.
On Monday, he'll be back to start the roof. He says it'll be all under roof without the shingles by Monday evening. That sounds good to me.
