"How can a young person stay pure? By obeying your word and following its rules. I have tried my best to find you—don't let me wander from your commands. I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you."
Psalm 119:9-11 NLT

I'll get this Foto Friday thing down yet.. it's my first ever time.. so please have patience with me while I have fun with my camera too.

The 1st issue of Imm-agine That is printed and after they are addressed, will be sent out to all our Imm family. Yippee.. it's a really good issue I believe.. you won't be disappointed. Well, I found out that it costs 3x as much to print on white paper in color..so I opted for colored paper. Perhaps next time I'll be able to afford 1 color page. I like the old pictures in B&W anyway.. much more fun.

This evening I spent several hours packing up our belongings for our (hopefully) final move of our life. I'll keep you posted as things progress.. everything is moving along in good order. I'm glad we aren't moving across the state or country- I'd really be in a fix. We are moving next door to a new trailer.. should be in by the end of the month or early November at latest.

Tomorrow is office day.. remember to pray for my patients that we'd have NO events.. and that my skills would be excellent.. thanks.

OH ..OOPS?

I talked to Wendy tonite and she says the Black and White challenge isn't till NEXT week.. but that's not what I read on the originator's site.. it says 'this week'.. hmmmmm Well.. I'm early then!

BLACK AND WHITE CHALLENGE

These are actually color photos taken
January 2009 in the depths of winter..

BLACK AND WHITE FOTO FRIDAY

Okay.. now don't be too hard on me.. this is my first try at taking pictures with a theme.. So we went out to do our laundry and on the way home we found these various things.. like this speed limit sign which I thought was all I'd get in black and white till I uploaded and it ALL looks black and white to me.. that's #1

I tried all morning to get Carlow to cooperate.. he's as black as the ace of spades.. so I turned over the styrofoam cooler and he gave me an almost profile.. yeah, well.. I'll get better.

This is called a blueprint, but for me a copy was black and white and brings me such joy..

YOUR TURN!

Friday, September 25, 2009

Congratulations Keith! on your new assignment.. I know you will do soooooo well, and we are soooo proud of you!!!

I have decided to join the group Photo Friday with Wendy and her friends. I know Jeremy belongs to a group too, but they are so professional, and I'm such a novice.. So I'm joining them to see what I can come up with.
This week is BLACK AND WHITE. I do have a pretty good idea how to capture that .. you'll see it perhaps tomorrow.
I seem to be at a physical low today.. but not a problem. I still accomplished much. I had boxes set out with a lot of papers to go through as we are packing for a move in the near future. I found 1 Pizza Hut gift card, 1 Olive Garden gift card, and 2 Target gift cards.. !!! Well, I'd say that alone was a productive day.

I have a new 'memory' note book now to remind me of things that need done. Today we crossed of a number of items under "call".. We called the hospital because Wendell got a bill for $400 for labs he had drawn in August. He presented them with his new insurance cards and they billed Medicare rather than Security Blue. Glad that wasn't a problem. We went ahead and had them rebill the right company and all should be well there. Then I called Security Blue to make sure they would cover his bariatric surgery. Yes, they will.. but it requires an authorization from his doctor. We tried to call his PCP and the office was closed at 3pm. Ugh.. well, that's a Monday call.
We have other calls to make next week.. prices of LP gas need to be obtained from local providers. We plan to heat our trailer and cook our food with it. Then there will be refuse pick up, phone company, and electric company, though these probably won't be next week, but closer to moving time.
It's really discouraging to realize how much one accumulates over 30 years.. or 40 if you count all the years we have been married. I'm trying hard to downsize on every side. Family history and pictures are my nemesis at the moment. The albums and records need to go on a bookshelf or 4. Whatever.
Then while Wendell and I were chatting today, we realized that this is only half the work.. the other half will be unpacking and putting things away once we are there.

Planning to go to bed early tonite. We have laundry to take care of tomorrow and then more packing.. I need boxes if anyone is getting rid of them?

YAY! It's over the hump day.. and the weekend is ahead.. I can see it coming into view!
Tomorrow is a work day for me however.. back to the office and more infusions. I really love my job.. It satisfies me in a way no other job ever has.
It was rainy today.. and muggy at the same time. It's still 75*.. ah.... my kind 'o weather!
I see more and more trees changing colors. We have the most spectacular one in our front yard.. no one else has one quite so brilliant. It's a maple. I think it's making up for last year when we went from summer to winter with no beautiful colors in between.
Back to my packing.. have a super good evening bloggers

Feeling rather sad that we were not able to get to church today. Wendell looked rather dreadful as he checked his blood sugar and it was only 60.. yesterday it did that too... He said he had a pretty bad night- no wonder. That wasn't the cause of our not going however.. it was that his hip is causing him distress and he is having more than usual difficulty ambulating.. ack! where does it all end? hmmmm
Are you wearing the full armor of God?

Be strong with the Lord's mighty power.

Put on all of God's armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all the strategies and tricks of the Devil.

For we are not fighting against people made of flesh and blood, but against the evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against those mighty powers of darkness who rule this world, and against wicked spirits in the heavenly realms.

Use every piece of God's armor to resist the enemy in the time of evil, so that after the battle you will still be standing firm.

Stand your ground, putting on the sturdy belt of truth and the body armor of God's righteousness.

For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News, so that you will be fully prepared.

In every battle you will need faith as your shield to stop the fiery arrows aimed at you by Satan.

Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Pray at all times and on every occasion in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all Christians everywhere.

175th anniversary Rose Point RPC

Today is Saturday. Wendell and I went to Rose Point RPC to celebrate their 175th anniversary. It was very interesting to hear some of the past pastors, we renewed acquaintances and met some new folks too. They served us a wonderful lunch and we shared in the cake too. We left home at 11am and arrived home a few minutes before 5pm.. we spent a lot of time rejoicing with them.
Thank you Rose Point for having us.. we loved it.

Good day to you all.. It's a chilly but lovely day in WPA. I'm happy. Today Wendell and I are headed for the library and to Sam's club, and then to some furniture stores perhaps.. delightful.
I'm so in awe of the stargazer lilies. They are in bloom a month late, but 5 gorgeous blooms are just smiling every time I look outside or go outdoors. Ah... so beautiful.

Office was long but very good on Thursday. Next week will be also.

Enjoying my stay at Facebook. It's nice to be able to connect with family and friends at a whim.

I'm just a wee bit behind on the blogging here.. all is well. We arrived home Monday evening after a wonderful drive through the mountains and the forest in the northern portion of PA. It was so beautiful. The construction on I-81 looked like there would still be a 2 hour sit while they worked, so we took route 29 south and west. 45mph most of the way, though there were long stretches of 55mph. Construction areas consisted of signs to warn us of upcoming construction, and then signs to advise that it had ended.. huh? My kind of construction for sure!!
It is quite beautiful through the mountains.. you can see forever. Wendell and I decided we'd definitely take this route again, though not if there is snow on the ground or threatening, and definitely not at night. Roads are very winding.

Tuesday was office day- half day that is. 3 patients and all did well. Tomorrow will be 6 I believe, and all day likely. Pray for us if you would.

Today was a shopping and planning day.. had some problems that kept us from the pool, but nothing really serious. Friday will be a busy one too.. out and about.

Friday, September 11, 2009

It's Friday. We have been enjoying our family here in Hallstead. Asher isn't the tiny baby we met on our last trip here.. he's growing so much.. whew! I had fun with Eli playing with PlayDoh yesterday afternoon. He's so funny.. I rolled the Doh and he made the cookies.. hehehe.. such fun! Last night we had only one game of SkipBo and then it was time for bed.
Tonite we plan to watch The Princess Bride. I know the kids will love it.. even I do.
Tomorrow we plan to go out to eat for supper.. the Olive Garden of course.
Hope it stops raining soon..

I am off tomorrow.. thank you Donna and Julie and the good doctor for whom I work. I love you all. This means our trip is moved up to sometime later today to visit our little Valentines. (the urge is great to call them 'my funny valentines'.)
Wendell is now going to have the oil changed in the car and I'll be heading over to the library to get a couple books on tape for us to listen to on the trip. It's a long one for us, but we enjoy it.
I need to stop at the carwash to vacuum out the car too.. and then we have to pack a few duds to wear while we are visiting..
WOOHOO! Gonna have a good time!
Isaac, Essie, and Gayle... get the SkipBo cards out and ready to go!

Tuesday, September 08, 2009

It's office day.. will ask again for prayer for me and for my patients to have no events. It will be a long day with just a few patients.
Allergies are kicking up today.. can't seem to stop sneezing.. oh, brother!

This is Labor Day weekend.. too bad we don't celebrate it as it was originally .. on a Tuesday. When I was growing up, we didn't start school in the fall until after Labor Day.. you could rely on that. Now, it seems like schools are starting in August to get a head start.. Is it really necessary?
I like the idea of home schooling.

It's rainy.. we had planned a picnic for this afternoon.. it may clear up before time.. and if not, well, we'll picnic in the rain!
I have had my morning exercise now.. Carlow slipped out the front door. He has a fascination with the chickens. Today he made a visit to the hen house... uninvited. The welcome left a lot to be desired. I saw him slip in the little exit door, and seconds later there was squawking .. and Carlow came back out the same way he went in.. looking a bit proud of himself. I followed him all over the place and finally caught up with him under the forsythia bush. UGH. Gotta carry a spray bottle with me when I go outside. That way I can get inside without him escaping again.

No good excuse for it.. I just didn't remember..
Happy Anniversary
Keith and JJ
and many many more
wonderful years together

It's hard to comprehend that it is already Labor Day weekend.. we are deep into it. Not much planned yet. Still thinking about maybe a picnic Monday.. hmmmm
It's a brisk morning here- mid 50s with a promise of 80 today. Hooray for a little more summer weather before the leaves are all on the ground. They are fast turning.
Laundry today likely.. gotta get the day started.

Friday, September 04, 2009

Fairly quiet here today.. We went to the Y for a swim.. it's closed for maintenence. Ugh.. I knew that but forgot.. so we went for groceries anyway.
Heading for the kids next week.. almost a count down around here.

Wednesday, September 02, 2009

It's the 2nd of September already.. time is flying- I must be having fun?! It is a bright and sunny day here in WPA.. a bit cool yet, but a promise of about 77* coming yet. I just took a mini walk outside and around the house. The Mama doe and her 2 fawns were right behind the house too. They don't run but watch me and continue grazing in the woods. Beautiful animals.

Facebook is taking up too much of my time. I'm addicted. Farmville is my problem. I can't seem to pull myself away when it's time for crops to be harvested. I was warned. I try to only play the Farmville during the day, and once or twice visit Yoville for a matter of minutes. There is another game called Lil Farm or some such thing that interests me, but I'm not a fully devoted follower as I am of Farmville.
The one good thing about Facebook is that I can connect with friends and family there that I otherwise wouldn't. And the pictures!!! Love those pictures.

Yesterday I found a set of King size satin bed linens on sale.. I bought them. Now we just have to buy the bed so we can use them.. Is that putting the cart before the horse? Nay.. I have been praying over a new bed for us when we move and Wendell and I decided on a king sized bed for our room. It is not just frivolous purchasing as far as the bed linens go, it is blind faith that God will provide all our needs in his time and according to his will.
Blessings to all...

I don't like to see fall come. For one thing, my allergies will kick up with all the rotting debris, and for another, and perhaps even more ominous, winter is on it's way. I have a suspicion that this will be an early winter that hangs around longer and colder. Brrrrr.. It was in the 40s last night and only going into the 70s today. Sure sign of fall, along with the leaves that I noted were changing color last week.. and then they are falling on the lawn now in greater amounts. UGH.

The nice thing is that Wendell and I are planning another trip to Hallstead to check the growth and progress of our youngest grandchild Asher.. To take Eli for ice cream, and get a SkipBo game or two in with the older Valentine kids. I love SkipBo. Wendy says Asher is starting to smile now.. gotta get me one of those smiles..

Office today. I'll be gone most of the day like normal working folk. Pray for us if you would. Biologics carry a risk though the majority of the patients have no problem with them, and desperately desire the infusions. They truly are awesome. (yeah, my patients too)

Gotta get a move on....
