I finished this afghan last evening.. my first try at a granny ripple. There seems to be something amiss here.. the ripples aren't completely even.. I plan to try again..

3 months- 3 afghans

This pink one is for J.J.. It's totally pink. That which looks beige is really a very light pink and VERY soft !

This one I finished last week.. is for baby boy Valentine..

I finished this one last month.. for Joyce.. I love the colors..

Here is the latest afghan.. and it's for Joyce.
It went really fast this time.

This morning it was 0 degrees outside.. cold!!! There was little to no wind, so it was just plain down to earth cold. I didn't have to do much except start the car a little early before heading to the office. Out of the scheduled 8 patients, 6 showed up and all did very well.

It's a cold and quiet evening here.. I've been trying to scan more old photos.. if you are interested, they are all in blogs at the right of this post.

I have finally completed 2 more afghans.. The children told me the colors they wanted, and I tried to comply as best I could. The blue one above is David's. Esther had her's earlier this year, but it didn't quite cover her toes...so I added to it~ a total of about 6-7". I think it will fit her better now.

With Isaac's birthday just a week away, I finally finished his afghan. It's what he requested- red, blue, and white. "Hey.. Gramma.. it looks a lot like the flag!".. Yes, it does.

This is the finished afghan.. Interesting .. the camera doesn't pick up all the blues in the yarn..

While I'm waiting for my bowl of broccoli/wild rice soup to cool, I thought I'd sit down and blog a few lines. This is my home made soup.. really tasty.. and it looks like spring!!
Speaking of spring.. it's currently 6 degrees and is supposed to be 4 tonite. We be in the season known as WINTER. Precip is ??

The hopefully best news is I'm feeling much better and though there is some residual GI problem.. at least my temp has been normal all day and I have only taken one round of Tylenol for the discomfort. It's held me all day.
Gotta check to see if my soup is cool enough to eat now..

MY LATEST CRAFT....

You won't believe this, but since NY day, I've completed 2 afghans. It all started when Joyce asked me if I knew how to crochet. "Well, I haven't done it for about 20 yrs, but , yes, I guess I do know how". She asked me to teach her. Just what gramma do you know that wouldn't be thrilled and honored to pieces to teach her grand daughter to crochet? I accepted and we made plans to get the yarn and hooks and set a date for her first lesson.
After about a week, I realized that I hadn't picked up a hook for a long time, and maybe I just didn't remember.. so my friend Sandi who teaches crochet and is active in Hugs and Stitches, offered advice and information. I got the beginner crochet book she suggested and yarn and a variety of hooks. I got myself some yarn too, and planned to test myself to see if I really could remember. I guess I did. It all came back to me and within a few days, I'd made a granny square out of control.. I gave it to Amy for her birthday but had forgotten to take a picture of it.
So today while I was keeping the children, I snapped a couple of photos of the afghan...

Pictures of afghans always need a cute little kiddo in the middle of them, don't you think?

I had yarn left over and since Annabelle liked her mom's so much, I decided to make one for her too.. This time I made it in 3 days.. It's an elongated granny afghan and has no fringe..
I'm really proud of the way they came out.
Joyce has scarlet colored yarn and I gave her her first short lesson today.. she is now learning to single crochet. What I saw was good. I told her to tear it all out and start over with a longer chain and then single crochet that piece. I'd be back to help her turn the work and continue.
When she gets going on it, I'll post pictures..
