Wendell took me to dinner tonite at Kings. We both had broiled lemon pepper cod with cole slaw and a baked potato. It really was delicious.
It's a quiet evening. Seems the kids and grandkids are gone to the farm show.. too hot for us oldsters, and the AQI is high.. need to stay indoors with the AC.
As for me.. I'm going to run my spybot program. I've been on Facebook a lot today and just need to check to make sure everything is cool.
So... off to my bed.. hopefully we shall be in church tomorrow.. we'll see.. not sure with the AQI so high.

I can't believe I did that.. and I actually enjoyed it.. and want to just keep adding names.. it's so bloomin' addictive. Okay.. out comes the ol' timer. I'll set it for an hour and that is it for Facebook. This is gonna be a hard one to get through.. but if you read this and want to join.. be my guest.. hehehe.. the more the merrier!

Standing in the need of prayer

Keith has a job interview Friday. Pray he is relaxed and does well.
Also, if you would remember Kristofer, grandson of a friend, who has cancer.. he's just a toddler. Pray he'll not need amputations and that a correct diagnosis would be made for his particular type of cancer. Remember the family too as this is such a stressful time for them all.
Another friend asks for prayer for Duane and Michael- employment related. Pray they will be able to handle whatever God wills for them.
Remember that we are commanded to pray for our leaders and those in high places. They need our prayers desperately and daily.

We had a blistering thunder buster Tuesday evening that came out of nowhere seemingly, hit hard, caused a 7 hr power outage, and was gone in minutes. Office today was good but I was so very weary after. I wasn't sure I'd make it through. I got up today with a horrific backache which I assume is weather induced. It's still with me and makes it hard to walk by times. I finished up around 3pm and as I went to the front of the office to check out, I noticed a blinding pouring down rain... a pounding rain that made 6" rivers in the parking area- it looked like the pictures on tv of hurricanes. I wondered if and/or when my car would come whooshing down past me. I'd cracked my car windows this morning and realized everything was gonna be soaked- so I made a dash for it with papers safely in plastic and keys in my hand. I was totally drenched before I got 3' from the door. UGH. Soaked through and through.. and the rain had indeed wet the inside of the car- I literally could squeeze water out of my steering wheel cover. For evermore.
I got home where it looked like we'd had some rain, but not the downpour of the city. I struggled out of the car and got inside where things were dry. I got a snack to eat and then layed down for a 1' nap.. which ended up a 4 hour nap.. and I just woke up. I had a bite of chicken that was supper tonite.. and then realized I was now chilled to the bone and still damp from earlier in the day. I'm still having a bit of trouble ambulating.. not sure which is worse, but together it's just not pleasant.
Patients did well today. Only one got more than 1 stick (((boo))).. but then when I finally did get her going, it was a dandy. One patient had her usual infusion reaction, but safely completed the infusion. I suppose the day was status quo in reality.
The new chimney here is really looking beautiful. The guys are almost done. Tomorrow should do the trick I 'm sure. It looks a lot different without chimney blocks..and now bricked.
Pictures later.. before and after. I don't have the energy to retrieve the camera and upload tonite.

It's been a warm and busy Saturday. After baking 2 cheesecakes, and a pan of brownies (not my old fashioned ones laced with metal I'll add).. it's sprinkling rain. That's okay.. we need a little rain to go with the sunshine.
I've got a potato salad started and it will be for a family picnic tomorrow evening here. It's a special salad in that the potatoes were grown in our garden. .. new potatoes for a delicious salad. It's supposed to be 90 tomorrow with some isolated thunderstorms. Let's hope they stay isolated from here while we picnic.
Not much else to report.. stay cool

Wendy has posted pictures on the Valentine blog. Asher is really growing fast.
It was a tiring day today. We hit Sam's Club for Wendell's drinks and one of my meds, then the local grocery. We'd gone to the library first and I got some history books on Butler County. Always interested in genealogy.. I've already done my 'speed read' with 2 of them. Very interesting.
Tomorrow is office day.. pray for us if you would. It's gonna be a long one.

The festivities were so wonderful today at Ken and Sandy's home. They are generous hosts. Unfortunately, the rain came down in buckets and I got soaked through and through.. We left for home at that point. It felt good to put dry clothes on. I did remember to take my camera out of the case and got some pictures, though not many .. it was just too wet and dark .. sigh...
