Tea Party

Tea parties are fun for grammas and grandkids.. We ladies like our china cups and teapot. The boys like the Star Wars mugs for their tea. I made at least 4 pots of tea.

Christmas 2010
The Ugly Ornament Contest..

Looks like a submarine, eh?
It's Vulhop's winner this year..
yeah, it's an ugly for sure.
Zombeck's entry..it won cutest..
Not sure it's really 'cute', but
it's another winner..

This one is my entry .. I don't know..
I think it's pretty ugly..

Actually, this one looks more ugly to me
than ANY of the entries.. a Zombeck
offering..

And mine.. I bought this at Kohl's (?)
for 50 cents.. It was marked $8.. I
took it to the cashier and said "I'll give
you 50 cents for this ugly thing, no more..
take it or leave it".. they took it.

Joyce brought Apples to Apples..
It was the hit of the evening..

These are Amy's pictures from Christmas Day
at their house..

Wow.. I can't believe I have let housework interfere with my computer time.. :) hehehe
It seems like forever since I last posted here, but we have been super crazy busy putting our home together the way we want it, and then having family over as often as possible.
Bills got paid today, laundry (at home) finished, and breakfast and lunch are over and the clean up done. WOOHOO!!!
Time to play a while..

4th of July eve

It's Independence Day eve.. there are some who want to change it to Dependence day.. not me, I love liberty and freedom. I'm thankful that our forefathers trusted the Lord and formed this nation over 200 years ago. God blessed us for many years.. but many have turned their backs on Him and denied him.. we will suffer for these unbelievers - come to think of it- we already are.

It's been a lazy Friday.. the weekend is upon us and I am thankful for that. I finally got the last of the peat moss needed for the big tractor tire. It took 4 bales and then I topped it off with a huge bag of potting soil. I'll be ready to plant my flowers tomorrow. Hopefully it will have settled a bit by then.

It has rained nearly all day and is about 70* outside. Tonite should drop to a cool 54*.. that's okay, the weekend promises to be sunny. So what are YOUR plans for the 4th? Wendell and I want to just stay home and maybe have a hot dog or two.. just a quiet day. I want to plant flowers too.. but nothing else on the agenda.

Of course, some assembly required first..

Joyce's cake

I decided to have an egg hunt later this afternoon.. just
something a little different.. So I filled 15 plastic colored eggs for each child
with a piece of gum or candy and a few coins.. and then herded kids inside
so we could hide them outside. It really was quite fun!

Everyone got into the act..

Paul3 had black eggs.. and a toad he found while he was
searching for his eggs.

We did have set borders for where the eggs would be hidden.
Try a black egg hidden under the wiper blade of my car.. ugh

Annabelle had yellow and gold and pink eggs

5 birds.. they are growing up fast..
