A common sight around here is chickens in the front yard. No one complains much. We complain more about groundhogs who dig these huge deep holes all over. Chickens don't do that.. they walk around , keep the bug population under control, and randomly fertilize the lawn.

Wendell saw the endocrinologist this week. He was pleased with Wendell's labs and his progress. His A1C went from 9.something to 7.1 . Thanks Mandy for the meals that make the difference!

Last night I went to bed with a lousy backache.. no good reason for it, just sore muscles .. above both hips.. ugh and ouch! I had a good night's sleep and this morning am feeling much better! Yay! I'll soak in the tub this morning and make sure I'm all together.
Today is the Sabbath. We are planning to attend worship. There is a fellowship dinner after the service. I've got ham and green beans in the crockpot.. oh, delicious scents all over the house! I wish I had a dessert to take, but alas, I never got that far yesterday. Well.. maybe next time.

I've been enjoying talking to friends and family on Facebook. Okay.. and playing the Farmville game too.. sigh...

Carlow is a very amusing cat. I must say, he keeps us entertained daily.. and nightly too. This morning I got up early for office and was preparing to get in the shower when I saw this streak of black jump into the tub ahead of me.. and HE refused to get out. I turned the light off and left the area and waited. Sure enough, he appeared about 3 minutes later and I'm sure he was bummed that he didn't get a shower. He loves water.
He spends his days lounging on the recliner with or without Wendell. One has to look carefully before sitting in that chair, as Carlow is pitch black and the chair is deep dark blue.. if he doesn't have his eyes open, one might just sit on him.

You probably won't believe what happened today with our cell phones. I switched SIM cards with Wendell and both phones work perfectly as if there was no problem. Crisis averted. Amen.

Today is office day- pray for us please- for all good results for patients and for my skills to be the best.
** My cell phone is dying. If you call, you likely won't get an answer from me, though you may be able to leave a message. The problem is that I won't be able to get the message. Looking for a new phone I guess. My Sim card registration has failed- whatever that means.

I just walked outside and around the corner of the house. There, while I was admiring the chimney, was a doe watching me. She kept lifting her head to make sure I meant no harm, and then she'd go back to grazing.. I watched her for a few minutes. She is such a beautiful creature.

We had little rain last evening and just a few drops today. It was humid nonetheless. It's about 60* tonite as I post, and not quite as bad with humidity with the fan running.
Feeling quite well.

I bought a new printer today. It's an Epsen stylus NX100.. a cheap printer ($28). I tried it out tonite and I am pleased at how clearly it prints color. The cartridges are very small, so I can't see doing a lot of printing myself, but perhaps I can do the originals and have copies Xeroxed somewhere. That seems reasonable. In the mean time, my old printer is a loss. I just put a new cartridge in it. Anyone use Lexmark No 1? Not sure if I could send it .. might leak.

Tomorrow is a big day here at the Z house. We are going to get a cat. Both John and I are slightly allergic to cats. I get a runny nose around them and he gets really stuffed up. John says he'll get shots if he has to.. I've been there already and may do it again this fall.

Weather service says bad storm tonite.. it isn't as bad yet as anticipated. They said we would have 60 mph winds with nickel sized hail. VERY electrical. So far, it's raining pretty hard, but the wind hasn't been moving the trees much. LOTS of lightening. No hail. Mucho thunder and it's loud. The radar map looks like we are in the middle of it right now.

Had a not so good day at the office today. Everyone did well.. one minor 'event' that was quickly corrected, but just a confusing day. I came home exhausted again.. Wonder how long I can keep up.

It's been a month since I had an asthma attack. I'm glad the time has passed and I'm doing better. I had a doctor appointment today for a checkup- she says she hears a wheeze in only one area- good sign- last time he heard air exchange in only one area! So I got a couple samples of nasal sprays to try- most of my congestion is from post nasal drip anyway. She thinks this may help the problem.. and I was also advised to use the nebulizer more often than I have been doing since the goal is control of asthma without the use of steroids. Ah.. steroids.. they cause some nasty side effects for me. I took them anyway because the inflammation had been so great.

Tonite we are having Chinese Take out.. Yay!!!!!! Love it! General Tso's chicken.. garlic chicken, chicken lo mein and rice. Yummy.

UH-OH..

This morning when I awoke, I found my computer had crashed. Oh boy.. not good. The best thing I have done in months was when , last month, I finally backed up my PC on Carbonite.com. It works folks.. got most everything back, but mostly I am thankful it returned my pictures- I have literally thousands on this machine!

Today is office day.. gotta get going here. Pray for no events and that my skills will be the best..

Wendell took me to dinner tonite at Kings. We both had broiled lemon pepper cod with cole slaw and a baked potato. It really was delicious.
It's a quiet evening. Seems the kids and grandkids are gone to the farm show.. too hot for us oldsters, and the AQI is high.. need to stay indoors with the AC.
As for me.. I'm going to run my spybot program. I've been on Facebook a lot today and just need to check to make sure everything is cool.
So... off to my bed.. hopefully we shall be in church tomorrow.. we'll see.. not sure with the AQI so high.

I must be crazy. I have kept up my blog for a number of years, and now, with one invitation from my cousin Betsy, I have added my name to the internet group called facebook..
I can't believe I did that.. and I actually enjoyed it.. and want to just keep adding names.. it's so bloomin' addictive. Okay.. out comes the ol' timer.
