Have you confessed your sins

They took turns confessing their sins and worshiping the Lord their God. Nehemiah 9:3 NLT
The recognition of sin is the beginning of salvation.
Martin Luther

Recognizing sin

The year 1983 summoned forth two splendid examples of moral imperfection: Rep. Daniel Crane (R-Ill) and Rep. Gerry Studds (D-Mass). Both were censured by the House for sexual misconduct with 17-year-old pages.

The nation got a glimmer of their philosophical differences when Crane admitted tearfully that he "broke the laws of God and man." He cast a vote for his own censure and faced the House as the Speaker announced the tally.

Studds, in contrast, defended the relationship with his page as "mutual and voluntary" and said the relationship didn't warrant the "attention and action" of the House. Studds listened to the verdict from the Speaker with his back to the House.

Do they both deserve equal censure? Of course. But there's one consolation for Crane. His philosophy (of an objective moral order promulgated by God in man's nature) teaches that there is one thing worse than sin. That is denial of sin, which makes forgiveness impossible.
Thomas F. Roeser in the Chicago Sun-Times

The Bible wants nothing to do with moral relativism, and that is why some critics have singled out faithful Christians and Jews for particular scorn.

These critics know that the objective moral standards defended by millions of faithful believers stand in the way of uprooting God from our nation.

Just as the people of Nehemiah's time confessed their sins and were restored, so we must ask the Lord to forgive us and heal our land.

It's a little after 6am, 51 beautiful degrees and we are looking for 70 degrees and lots of sunshine today! HOORAY! I love spring.. I want to take a walk when I get home from the office today.. a walk around the perimeter. I'll take my camera with me.
We were 'dive bombed' by a mama robin yesterday. It never ceases to amaze me how very close to our house and the walkway that birds choose to make a nest. Last night Mandy called me outside to see why we were dive bombed.. the robin had built her nest so close to the walk, we could actually look into the nest to see a little blue egg. Oh, this will be such fun to watch.

Our robin has only one egg in her nest.. and she built it at eye level in the mountain laurel ..

I got my shoes on this morning without any difficulty. WOOHOO!!! I can deal with the excess fluid... we'll see how it goes today.

I'm so thankful for friends and family that respond so quickly with prayer. You are all so special to me. There are so many who need prayer, and it's such a powerful tool.. but we also need to remember to thank the Lord who lovingly answers our requests..

I thank him for my hubby who has to be away for a while, but will be home in a couple weeks.. and for his progress in diet control and weight loss.. and his exercise program.. I'm thankful for Wendy for taking on this project-

I'm thankful for my best friend Sandi who is always there for me.. and who loves me no matter what. How wonderful that God put her in my life. We are prayer partners. I'm thankful for her progress with her medical problems which are improving. And for her hubby Rick- without that connection, I might never have met her. They are such a blessing to me.

For Nancy who responds to my prayer requests with such amazing speed, and passes the requests on to others.

I'm also thankful for the improvement in Keith's mom, and that Sara had a good experience yesterday.. and the good reports about Barb..

I'm thankful for my employer and my job in the office. I'm so blessed..

For my sister, brothers, children and grandchildren.. WOW!

What are YOU thankful for?

TODAY IS PRIMARY ELECTION DAY
IN PENNSYLVANIA
GET OUT THERE AND

Wendell has lost 2 more pounds as of Monday morning..
for a grand total of
23 #
since this past Thursday!!!

Take a look at the Zombeck's blog to see what's new there..nice...

It's been a really fine day. Beautiful weather.. not too cool and not too hot.. just right! I love spring. Have I mentioned that lately?

The office went smoothly today.. at least for me. I really love working there, and the things I get to do. I meet about 40 patients a day and they are all a delight to me. I have a GREAT employer!
I finally got my tennies on for work today, but my toes are a tad sore now from the swelling in my feet- sorta like my shoes are a size too small. Tonite they actually feel a lot better. I hope they keep going that direction.

The latest update from the Vulhops..
K's Mom was moved to the MICU yesterday and had her vent removed. She's still got the NG tube and what seems like a gazillion other tubes in. She can talk softly now and she's in a great deal of pain. They wanted to try to get her sitting up today but it was too painful. Maybe tomorrow??? Doppler studies were negative so the blood clots are not coming from her legs. Still can't give her Heparin so not sure what's next. She had some other xrays and tests run today but we don't have the results yet. We all remain cautiously optimistic.
Denise has gone home until Wednesday. Tammy is staying at the hospital tonight. We will likely try to head homeward tomorrow afternoon (Tuesday). We'll see how the morning goes. She is still quite ill and has a L-O-N-G road of recovery ahead.

Please keep praying... Many thanks to all who have been praying for us. It's awesome! Thank you.

HOW MANY OF ME?

Thanks Elsie, for sending this along. I found it quite interesting.. It's a site called How Many of Me, and it tells you how many people share your first and last name, and how many people share your full name.
Here's how I did..
Marilyn.. there are 366,201 people in the US with my first name, and it ranks 159th in popularity
Blair.. there are 91,170 people who share my last name, and ranks 357th in popularity
and 110 Marilyn Blairs in the US all together.
I tried my maiden name, Imm..
There are 425 people with my last name Imm
But only 1 Marilyn Imm.. well, we all knew that, now , didn't we?
check it out for YOUR name..
Anyone else as unique as me?
It's Monday.. the alarm never went off, but then it's set for 5am and I've been up since 4am after sleeping all night .. comfortably. I went to bed a bit early.. I was tired after our picnic yesterday.

How wonderful it was to have the kids and their parents and Jane too.. the occasion was the 3 April birthdays. John and Mandy were at his family's home yesterday.. John's brother and I share a birthday too. My sister in law, Mary Lou, also shares that birthday. Lots of April birthdays!

I'll be curious to know how much more fluid Wendell has lost since yesterday.. I hope plenty. Today he has to have his labs drawn in NY.
I seem to be having a similar problem with fluid, but not doing as well as he. After some hefty diuresing yesterday, I'm showing a 5# gain again today.. If this keeps up, I'll call the doctor tomorrow for another readjustment of medications. I'm having a problem getting even my sandals on again today..ugh. I have to get this cleared up before too long since I am obligated to work in the office today. I've already taken the Lasix and have been to the potty 3 times in the last hour... I knew you'd all want to know that.. hehehehe

Ok.. Peak flow this morning was 360.. moving toward asthma control slowly but surely. Yesterday's readings were both at 340. WOOHOO!!! I'm in the caution zone, but closer to the green than the red.
One day I'm going to be able to say.. No health problems today.. feeling fine.
How I long for that day.

I'll ask you to pray for Wendell today.. for that fluid loss and his strengthening while he's away from home..
And for Nicki and Dave... Please also remember JJ and Keith and Keith's mom Sharon.. no report yet this morning on her status. God is able to heal our physical bodies and our spiritual bodies too..
Remember Barb and her family.. and Melody's sister..
I need not mention the details as God knows the persons and the needs..
I'll also ask for prayer for Helen and Sara today.. they face some big needs today.
Aunt MaryJane and Uncle Bob too..

I'm heading for the shower.. time to get the day started..

The need for Christ
Jesus knew that everything was now finished, and to fulfill the Scriptures he said, "I am thirsty."
John 19:28 NLT

I have a great need for Christ, I have a great Christ for my need.
Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834-1892)

I'm thirsty
One of the women who lingered at the foot of the cross had once known thirst that ordinary water couldn't quench.
She had been an outcast among her peers.…She had a great need, and nothing could fill the emptiness, the void within her.
Then came the day when she met Jesus.
Although her accusers had already given up on her and would readily have stoned her, Jesus saw her need, and rather than give up on her, he faced her accusers and saved not only her life but her soul as well.
From that moment forward, Mary Magdalene was a devoted disciple of Christ, following him even to the foot of a brutal cross.
When Jesus cried out in thirst, the soldiers mistook it for weakness of the flesh and thrust sour wine to his lips.
What they didn't comprehend is that Jesus' words were a declaration of his completion of his Father's work.
He was thirsty because he was being poured out as an offering, not only for the grateful woman who knelt at this feet but also for generations of people to come.

JESUS, you poured out your life like an offering and gave me living water that saved and restores my soul. Help me to take that same living water and extend it to those around me who are thirsty. Please us me to reach out to the abandoned, the scorned, the unlovable, with your sacrificial love.

faux pas

OOPS!
Wendy called to say she made a math error this morning when she weighed her dad. He didn't just lose 11#.. but 21 total pounds since this past Thursday. That Lasix is fabulous! She says his chicken legs are back! HOORAY!! Missing him a lot today.

INFORMATION

We hear so much about liberalism being a mental disorder.. so I started checking out some of the obvious ones.. here's what I found.

Freud argued that the human mind and personality are made up of three parts:

The id:
a primitive part of the personality that pursues only pleasure and instant gratification.

The mind of a newborn child is regarded as being completely "id-ridden", in the sense that it is a mass of instinctive drives and impulses, and demands immediate satisfaction. This view equates a newborn child with an id-ridden individual—often humorously—with this analogy: an alimentary tract with no sense of responsibility at either end.

The id is responsible for our basic drives such as food, sex, and aggressive impulses. It is amoral and egocentric, ruled by the pleasure–pain principle; it is without a sense of time, completely illogical, primarily sexual, infantile in its emotional development, and will not take "no" for an answer. It is regarded as the reservoir of the libido or "love energy".

The ego:
that part of the personality that is aware of reality and is in contact with the outside world. It is the part that considers the consequences of an action and deals with the demands of the id and superego.

The ego mediates among the id, the super-ego and the external world. Its task is to find a balance between primitive drives and reality [the Ego devoid of morality at this level] while satisfying the id and super-ego. Its main concern is with the individual's safety and allows some of the id's desires to be expressed, but only when consequences of these actions are marginal. Ego defense mechanisms are often used by the ego when id behavior conflicts with reality and either society's morals, norms, and taboos or the individual's expectations as a result of the internalization of these morals, norms, and their taboos.

The word ego is taken directly from Latin, where it is the nominative of the first person singular personal pronoun and is translated as "I myself" to express emphasis.

In modern-day society, ego has many meanings. It could mean one’s self-esteem; an inflated sense of self-worth; or in philosophical terms, one’s self. However, according to Freud, the ego is the part of the mind which contains the consciousness. Originally, Freud had associated the word ego to meaning a sense of self; however, he later revised it to mean a set of psychic functions such as judgment, tolerance, reality-testing, control, planning, defense, synthesis of information, intellectual functioning, and memory.

It is said to operate on a reality principle, meaning it deals with the id and the super-ego; allowing them to express their desires, drives and morals in realistic and socially appropriate ways. It is said that the ego stands for reason and caution, developing with age. Sigmund Freud had used an analogy which likened the ego to a rider and a horse; the ego being the rider while the id being the horse. The horse provides the energy and the means of obtaining the energy and information need, while the rider ultimately controls the direction it wants to go. However, due to unfavorable conditions, sometimes the horse makes its own decisions over the rocky terrain.

The superego:
contains our social conscience and through the experience of guilt and anxiety when we do something wrong, it guides us towards socially acceptable behaviour.

The super-ego tends to stand in opposition to the desires of the id because of their conflicting objectives, and its aggressiveness towards the ego. The super-ego acts as the conscience, maintaining our sense of morality and proscription from taboos.

The Sociopath

Antisocial behaviour..

Three or more of the following are required:

  1. Failure to conform to social norms with respect to lawful behaviors as indicated by repeatedly performing acts that are grounds for arrest.
  2. Deceitfulness, as indicated by repeatedly lying, use of aliases, or conning others for personal profit or pleasure
  3. Impulsivity or failure to plan ahead
  4. Irritability and aggressiveness, as indicated by repeated physical fights or assaults
  5. Reckless disregard for safety of self or others
  6. Consistent irresponsibility, as indicated by repeated failure to sustain consistent work behavior or honour financial obligations
  7. Lack of remorse, as indicated by being indifferent to or rationalizing having hurt, mistreated, or stolen from another.

Common characteristics of people with antisocial personality disorder include

  • Persistent lying or stealing
  • Recurring difficulties with the law
  • Tendency to violate the rights and boundaries of others (property, physical, sexual, emotional, legal)
  • Substance abuse
  • Aggressive, often violent behavior; prone to getting involved in fights
  • A persistent agitated or depressed feeling
  • Inability to tolerate boredom
  • Disregard for the safety of self or others
  • A childhood diagnosis of conduct disorders - this is not a symptom but "a history of"
  • Lack of remorse, related to hurting others
  • Superficial charm
  • Impulsiveness
  • A sense of extreme entitlement
  • Inability to make or keep friends
  • Recklessness, impulsivity
  • People with a diagnosis of antisocial personality disorder often experience difficulties with authority figures
  • research shows a high proportion of these traits amongst CEOs of major corporations
Dissocial behaviour

Specifically, the dissocial personality disorder is described by the World Health Organization by the following criteria:

  1. Callous unconcern for the feelings of others and lack of the capacity for empathy
  2. Gross and persistent attitude of irresponsibility and disregard for social norms, rules, and obligations.
  3. Incapacity to maintain enduring relationships.
  4. Very low tolerance to frustration and a low threshold for discharge of aggression, including violence.
  5. Incapacity to experience guilt and to profit from experience, particularly punishment.
  6. Marked proneness to blame others or to offer plausible rationalizations for the behavior bringing the subject into conflict.
  7. Persistent irritability
Attempts to correlate dissocial personality disorder have had methodological problems.
Although a high percentage of prisoners in England and Wales were shown in one survey to fulfill the criteria for a dissocial personality, since the diagnosis of dissocial personality includes a disregard for social rules and norms, it is not surprising that the same individuals commits crimes.
According to one source on the Sociopath,

Some of the common features of descriptions of the behavior of sociopaths.

  • Glibness and Superficial Charm

  • Manipulative and Conning
They never recognize the rights of others and see their self-serving behaviors as permissible. They appear to be charming, yet are covertly hostile and domineering, seeing their victim as merely an instrument to be used. They may dominate and humiliate their victims.

  • Grandiose Sense of Self
Feels entitled to certain things as "their right."

  • Pathological Lying
Has no problem lying coolly and easily and it is almost impossible for them to be truthful on a consistent basis. Can create, and get caught up in, a complex belief about their own powers and abilities. Extremely convincing and even able to pass lie detector tests.

  • Lack of Remorse, Shame or Guilt
A deep seated rage, which is split off and repressed, is at their core. Does not see others around them as people, but only as targets and opportunities. Instead of friends, they have victims and accomplices who end up as victims. The end always justifies the means and they let nothing stand in their way.

  • Shallow Emotions
When they show what seems to be warmth, joy, love and compassion it is more feigned than experienced and serves an ulterior motive. Outraged by insignificant matters, yet remaining unmoved and cold by what would upset a normal person. Since they are not genuine, neither are their promises.

  • Incapacity for Love

  • Need for Stimulation
Living on the edge. Verbal outbursts and physical punishments are normal. Promiscuity and gambling are common.

  • Callousness/Lack of Empathy
Unable to empathize with the pain of their victims, having only contempt for others' feelings of distress and readily taking advantage of them.

  • Poor Behavioral Controls/Impulsive Nature
Rage and abuse, alternating with small expressions of love and approval produce an addictive cycle for abuser and abused, as well as creating hopelessness in the victim. Believe they are all-powerful, all-knowing, entitled to every wish, no sense of personal boundaries, no concern for their impact on others.

  • Early Behavior Problems/Juvenile Delinquency
Usually has a history of behavioral and academic difficulties, yet "gets by" by conning others. Problems in making and keeping friends; aberrant behaviors such as cruelty to people or animals, stealing, etc.

  • Irresponsibility/Unreliability
Not concerned about wrecking others' lives and dreams. Oblivious or indifferent to the devastation they cause. Does not accept blame themselves, but blames others, even for acts they obviously committed.

  • Promiscuous Sexual Behavior/Infidelity
Promiscuity, child sexual abuse, rape and sexual acting out of all sorts.

  • Lack of Realistic Life Plan/Parasitic Lifestyle
Tends to move around a lot or makes all encompassing promises for the future, poor work ethic but exploits others effectively.

  • Criminal or Entrepreneurial Versatility
Changes their image as needed to avoid prosecution. Changes life story readily.

Other Related Qualities:

  1. Contemptuous of those who seek to understand them
  2. Does not perceive that anything is wrong with them
  3. Authoritarian
  4. Secretive
  5. Paranoid
  6. Only rarely in difficulty with the law, but seeks out situations where their tyrannical behavior will be tolerated, condoned, or admired
  7. Conventional appearance
  8. Goal of enslavement of their victim(s)
  9. Exercises despotic control over every aspect of the victim's life
  10. Has an emotional need to justify their crimes and therefore needs their victim's affirmation (respect, gratitude and love)
  11. Ultimate goal is the creation of a willing victim
  12. Incapable of real human attachment to another
  13. Unable to feel remorse or guilt
  14. Extreme narcissism and grandiose
  15. May state readily that their goal is to rule the world

NOTE: In the 1830's this disorder was called "moral insanity." By 1900 it was changed to "psychopathic personality." More recently it has been termed "antisocial personality disorder" in the DSM-III and DSM-IV. Some critics have complained that, in the attempt to rely only on 'objective' criteria, the DSM has broadened the concept to include too many individuals. The APD category includes people who commit illegal, immoral or self-serving acts for a variety of reasons and are not necessarily psychopaths.
The Psychopath
Psychopaths have only a shallow range of emotions and lack guilt, says Hare. They often see themselves as victims, and lack remorse or the ability to empathize with others. "Psychopaths play on the fact that most of us are trusting and forgiving people," adds Seto. The warning signs are always there; it's just difficult to see them because once we trust someone, the friendship becomes a blinder.
"Psychopaths don't discriminate who it is they lie to or cheat," says Seto. "There's no distinction between friend, family and sucker."
What you can do is look at how often someone lies and how they react when caught. Psychopaths will lie over and over again, and where other people would sincerely apologize, a psychopath may apologize but won't stop.
How do you make sure you don't get fooled when you're hiring someone to baby-sit your child or for any other job? Hire based on reputation and not image, says Willson. Check references thoroughly. Psychopaths tend to give vague and inconsistent replies.
They're our friends, lovers and co-workers. They're outgoing and persuasive, dazzling you with charm and flattery. Often you aren't even aware they've taken you for a ride -- until it's too late.
THE MALIGNANT PERSONALITY:

These people are mentally ill and extremely dangerous! The following precautions will help to protect you from the destructive acts of which they are capable.

First, to recognize them, keep the following guidelines in mind.

(1) They are habitual liars. They seem incapable of either knowing or telling the truth about anything.

(2) They are egotistical to the point of narcissism. They really believe they are set apart from the rest of humanity by some special grace.

(3) They scapegoat; they are incapable of either having the insight or willingness to accept responsibility for anything they do. Whatever the problem, it is always someone else's fault.

(4) They are remorselessly vindictive when thwarted or exposed.

(5) Genuine religious, moral, or other values play no part in their lives. They have no empathy for others and are capable of violence. Under older psychological terminology, they fall into the category of psychopath or sociopath, but unlike the typical psychopath, their behavior is masked by a superficial social facade.
The malignant type is a coward and will not expose himself or herself to personal danger if he or she can avoid it.

UPDATE WENDELL

Wendell must have needed that diuretic pretty badly.. his weight loss from Thursday to today is 11#. Wendy says his legs/ankles look pretty good today too. He should feel pretty good in the mean time.. carrying around that excess fluid is taxing on the body.
Atta boy! Wendell..

CHALLENGE

God Bless! Do you believe we can take God at His word? Call upon His name, then stand back and watch His wonders to behold.
This scripture gives us, as Christians, ownership of this land and the ability to call upon God to heal it. I challenge you to do so.
We have never been more desperate than now for God to heal our land. This election is the scariest I remember in my lifetime.

1 Chronicles 7:14 - If my people, which are called by my name shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

During WWII, there was an advisor to Churchill who organized a group of people who dropped what they were doing every night at a prescribed hour for one minute to collectively pray for the safety of England, its people and peace. This had an amazing effect as bombing stopped.

There is now a group of people organizing the same thing here in America. The United States of America and our citizens need prayer more than ever!

If you would like to participate: each evening at 9:00 PM Eastern Time (8:00 PM Central, 7:00 PM Mountain, 6:00 PM Pacific), stop whatever you are doing and spend one minute praying for the safety of the United States, our troops, our citizens, for peace in the world, the up-coming election, that the Bible will remain the basis for the laws governing our land and that Christianity will grow in the U.S.

If you know anyone who would like to participate, please pass this along.
If people really understood the full extent of the power we have available through prayer, we might be speechless. Our prayers are the most powerful asset we have.

Thank You. Please pass this on to anyone who you think will want to join us.

'But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.' (Josh. 24:15) <*)))><

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JANE

JANE!!!
IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY TODAY
APRIL 20

Full moon tonite. That's one of those things that causes me to cringe by times. Usually I don't even have to look. People get so batty with the onset of the full moon. Things happen that don't happen any other time of the month. When I worked in obstetrics, we had a major influx of moms in labor over the full moon, and the rowdy patients set off the code yellow alarms frequently around that time too. Depressed people become more depressed.. When I was a nursing student on my psych affiliation, we were told to lock away ANYTHING that was of value or sharp over the full moon especially.. and I remember coming back after a weekend off to hear of a guard who was stabbed and in the hospital after a patient used a plastic knife on him- by a patient who was normally never a problem, but the full moon does odd things to people. Strange and bizarre, but true. Beware.

Today is the Sabbath. I am not sure of my ability to go to church today. I'm having some feet/leg swelling that is causing me some distress.. like I can't get my shoes on! YIKE! Move over Wendell.. I've always had this swelling, but lately, since the doctor changed my meds, it's gotten worse. I guess I need to check in with him again to get this rectified. It's not usually this bad in the morning and only increases during the day.. ugh.
I was so pleased with my peak flows yesterday.. 350 and 360..woohoo! Still in the caution zone, but high. This morning I'm at 280 for all 3 breaths..in the caution zone.. right in the middle.

I think I'll try to get ready for church anyway... have a great day despite the rain..

The Stranger

This is very interesting and not the ending I had expected!!!!

A few years after I was born, my Dad met a stranger who was new to our small Texas town. From the beginning, Dad was fascinated with this enchanting newcomer and soon invited him to live with our family. The stranger was quickly accepted and was around from then on.

As I grew up, I never questioned his place in my family. In my young mind, he had a special niche. My parents were complementary instructors: Mom taught me good from evil, and Dad taught me to obey. But the stranger...he was our storyteller. He would keep us spellbound for hours on end with
Adventures, mysteries and comedies.

If I wanted to know anything about politics, history or science, he always knew the answers about the past, understood the present and even seemed able to predict the future! He took my family to the first major league ball game. He made me laugh, and he made me cry. The stranger never stopped
Talking, but Dad didn't seem to mind.

Sometimes, Mom would get up quietly while the rest of us were shushing each other to listen to what he had to say, and she would go to the kitchen for peace and quiet. (I wonder now if she ever prayed for the stranger to leave.)

Dad ruled our household with certain moral convictions, but the stranger never felt obligated to honor them. Profanity, for example, was not allowed in our home... Not from us, our friends or any visitors. Our longtime visitor, however, got away with four-letter words that burned my ears and made my dad squirm and my mother blush. My Dad didn't permit the liberal use of alcohol. But the stranger encouraged us to try it on a regular
Basis. He made cigarettes look cool, cigars manly and pipes distinguished.
He talked freely (much too freely!) about sex. His comments were sometimes blatant, sometimes suggestive, and generally embarrassing.

I now know that my early concepts about relationships were influenced strongly by the stranger. Time after time, he opposed the values of my parents, yet he was seldom rebuked... And NEVER asked to leave.

More than fifty years have passed since the stranger moved in with our family. He has blended right in and is not nearly as fascinating as he was at first. Still, if you could walk into my parents' den today, you would still find him sitting over in his corner, waiting for someone to listen to him talk and watch him draw his pictures.
His name?.... . . .

We just call him 'TV.'

(Note: This should be required reading for every household in America!)
He has a wife now....We call her 'Computer.'

JJ's hubby's mom has been in the hospital for the past week with some pretty serious illness. She is in ICU in Kentucky. I believe I had asked you to pray for her before, and now will make that request again.. Her condition has deteriorated and she has developed another serious illness on top of the first. This morning JJ called to say the family was called to Kentucky.. Keith's mom has clots in her lungs now. Things are piling up.. 3 major problems.. life threatening ones. Please remember her with prayer.

Putting things in perspective..

It's my birthday and even though I'm moving on in years, I still feel pretty good considering. I laughed to think that my children probably think I was around before the wheel was invented.. and this made me look a bit into the world of Inventions Timeline. I found this a bit interesting.. and it makes me feel pretty good.. pretty young... when I look at this information.. take a look.. when were YOU born?

WENDELL'S WEIGH IN #2

IgE can trigger the most powerful immune responses in the human body. Average is ~75 and top normal is <115. I got the results of mine today..
230. I guess I have some allergies. The next part of the testing should show some of the more common things that I am allergic to.
I was so impressed with my peak flow last night..at 310, I was nearly ecstatic. It is still in the caution zone, but closer to control. And then I got up this morning and it was horrific. On the third try I finally got to 230. UGH! I feel like a yoyo!
I shouldn't have gone outside, but I'd promised to do some office work today, and felt the need to comply.. so I went.. it took hours before I felt my lungs calm down.

Today was WEIGH IN day for Wendell. He's been working hard on his diet/exercise program. We all expected some minor miracles here, but this morning was a total shock. Wendy called me to say he'd GAINED 20# and his legs/feet were very swollen. I guessed the weight gain was from that.. and they called his PCP here in Butler and had him order a potent diuretic for him at a local pharmacy. Lasix works great. Monday he'll have some labs drawn and we'll see how it does over the weekend. I'm guessing that by Monday he'll be down at least 20#.

It was the most beautiful day here in Butler. 79 incredible degrees and so sunny! Tomorrow will be nearly a repeat of today at 75 degrees, but with a chance of isolated thunderstorms.
Charlie had the garden plowed today. It's a little smaller than previous years, but still huge. I can't wait for that first red ripe juicy tomato! Yummy! AND.. On Sunday I'm planning to go out and check the asparagus too! If it rains and it's still warm, there should be some spears popping up in the next couple of days.

I'm heading to bed early tonite. I want to get a head start tomorrow on the bedrooms. I've been so behind all week and not making ANY progress at all.. and then dishes.. oh, my .. the dishes too! I'll get them in the morning. For now, I'm going to turn on some good music and just relax the rest of it.
More tomorrow.........
