Yep... today is May 1st.. May day. And it's been a busy one too. Wendell and I went grocery shopping and picked up some items for the birthday dinner for Keith. If you are reading this, Keith, your gift is gonna be a little delayed.. it's been shipped, but won't arrive until at least Monday.. Sorry
But we are going to have a really wonderful time with the whole family again. Too bad the Valentines can't join us.
Tomorrow is cleaning day. Our hallway is a disaster.. it HAS to be cleaned up tomorrow.
It rained today off and on and actually very gently for the most part. This evening Wendell got on John's lawn tractor and mowed the lawn.. and did a very good job of it until the rain started en force.. and he had to come in or be washed ashore...
So, the dandelions will bloom again .. we don't have as many as some of our neighbors.. one has a blanket of yellow on their lawn. I have to say, it's quite beautiful. I think we have the prize for the most violets however. The yard had a blue tint to it... before Wendell mowed.
Charlie picked asparagus and got a hefty handful from my big row. Oh, yummy !!!!
I was going to go out today to check them, but now will do it tomorrow between the raindrops.. yes, it's to rain again. April showers bring may flowers, you know? and even if it is May, the flowers are gorgeous.. lilacs , tulips, and the crab apple blossoms are all blooming..
There is a certain elegance about the spring flowers.. like nothing all the rest of the year.
I had to laugh when Charlie said "I picked the first vegetables from the garden ".. referring to the asparagus.
