FOTO FRIDAY- MACRO

Once again, I just had the most fun taking walks outdoors and carrying my camera with me. So much to see.. and Macro was the challenge. I shot smaller things and then blew them up so you can see macro details.
Join us at Foto Friday at Renaissance. Take the challenge!
So here are my entries.. it was hard to choose.. I had 30 pictures ready, but didn't want anyone to fall asleep looking through them.. :(

The pink lily is my favorite..

The spiders give me the woolies, but my favorites are the first pic of the pine fronds and the last of the lily. I also love the bumblebee one- Great Job! :)

Mother...why are there so many bugs...*shiver*! I cant believe that one with the spider picking up its legs...it did not look possible...good job! *shiver* The pine tree bough was also a favorite, as was the stargazer lily. Did you have to crop yours to get them to be macro, or could you get close enough with your camera?

Yep, I agree, the lily is my favorite too!
Kudos to you for getting up close and personal with the bugs! I would have screamed and run.

I love stargazer lilies, and just looking at a photo of them brings their scent to mind.

It appears that you had much better luck finding creepy-crawlies than I did. . . and I WAS looking for them! ;) Not that they are a favorite friend of mine, but as you show here, it is interesting to see them upclose. But I agree with you, it's the Stargazer that really "pops" and grabs my attention. Great job!!!

As my husband just said "What's up with the spiders, eewww" Yes, they creeped us out!! LOL! We aren't a spider family even though we have all boys!! :)

I love the resolution on the lily, the details you can see of pollen and the stamens!

What type of camera are you using? Did you notice if your pictures seemed larger when you viewed them at 100% on your computer's viewing program?

DOn't you know?? You need to put your favorites on TOP?!?

Well, unless you save best for last.
:-)

Spiders-I take pictures of them all the time and never knew what the big deal was. But seeing someone else's pictures of them gave me the heebie jeebies--I think I will be done with spiders for a bit! :-)

I agree~ the lily on bottom is beautiful. I can't tell you how much I yearned for fresh flowers this week.

Um..didn't want to freak anyone out with the spiders. I should have admitted that every one of them was about less than
1/4" long. They all appear as tiny dots on my original photos before I cropped them down. Very unfrightening actually.

My camera is a Nikon Cool Pix L18. It's an 8 megapixel..not a lot, but it does what I like. It has this anti shake thing on it, and that is so wonderful when I'm trying to get close up.

I hopped back over to let you know that the photos that I posted on my blog from archives (the flowers, web, and dragonfly) were done with a tiny little point and shoot called a Nikon coolpix. So-you can achieve pictures of that quality too!

As for the turning off the flash~ does your camera have a menu? If so-the flash option might be there. Or if you see a black arrow button (the up arrow on the coolpix) if you push that you might get an option to turn off the flash (it looks like a line through the arrow). Hope that helps!
