According to the 'bovine barometer' of yesterday, we should have had rain, but were missed. We observed all the cows we saw yesterday- laying down. It felt like rain and looked like rain- I'm sure someone locally got it.
Wendell got his knee injected with Synvisc yesterday morning. He said Sara is good at giving injections- he barely felt it.
This was the 1st of 3 injections for that knee that gives him so much pain. He got up in the middle of the night with it aching, but this morning it is "manageable". That's a major improvement, the Synvisc doesn't normally work so quickly- sometimes up to 6 weeks later~ we are optimistic !
Sometimes we have to face difficult decisions in life. After over a year of discussion and planning, we have made a property transfer. We have made many stipulations regarding our future here, allowing us to remain until the Lord calls us both home.
It brings to mind when we first acquired this property back in the 70s- Wendell's dad gave us a choice of any piece of the farm that we wished- we chose these 8 acres on top of the hill rather than down in the valley. It was a woods and cornfield then, and the only stipulation was that we would allow his dad to harvest his corn that season.
Shortly after that transfer of land, we brought Mother here and put a trailer in for her. Our agreement with her was not on a piece of paper with an attorney as we have done with our children, but a verbal one. "you may live here the rest of your life or until you chose to go somewhere else". Basically, our children are doing the same thing for us.
Our health is declining, there are things we just can't do to care for the land and ourselves any more.
Through much prayer, we have come to this decision- one that has brought us to this point. We both feel that God has led us in this direction.
Pray for all of us please. This is a major decision and a small step into the next phase of our lives.
