Thanksgiving is coming up soon.. in fact, just a week from today. We have so much for which to be thankful. Not sure I could even begin to list all my blessings..they are so many..
But I'm thankful for the change in seasons.. God promised that in scripture..
Ecclesiastes 3 tells us:
1 There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:
2 a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3 a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
4 a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
6 a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7 a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8 a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.
Psalm 104:19 says:
Psalm 104:19
He made the moon to mark the seasons, and the sun knows when to go down.
Acts 14:7 says:
Yet he has not left himself without testimony: He has shown kindness by giving you rain from heaven and crops in their seasons; he provides you with plenty of food and fills your hearts with joy.”
Jeremiah 8:7 says:
Even the stork in the sky knows her appointed seasons, and the dove, the swift and the thrush observe the time of their migration. But my people do not know the requirements of the LORD.
It is reassuring to know we serve a God who controls all things- seasons, sun, moon, stars.. and we can expect these things in their times appointed.
