We woke up this morning to snow.. about an inch of it everywhere.. it didn't last long, but we've had snow all evening and it's C O L D. It's the price we pay to be here and enjoying our family.
Tomorrow starts spring vacation for everyone around here- at least a week off. Too bad my vacation wasn't scheduled that week.. but it's been a good one anyway.
Wendell and I went into Hallstead to get our car gassed up, some groceries, and a part for Gaylie's new tricycle. She fits it just fine and I think she likes it.
Essie is a really wonderful help to Wendy with the baby Eli. She and the other children are always pleased to hold Eli any time at all. Esther helps bathe him and dress him and change his diapers too. She has developed many homemaking skills including laundry- and folding clothes which is also a great help to Wendy. Esther is also a singer- she loves to sing , has a lovely voice, and knows a lot of songs which she sings to Elijah.
Isaac is full of stories from school and got his report card today with all E's.. which is not the same as when I went to school.. E's for me meant failure... E's for Isaac mean Excellent- and in every subject. It was also nice to see teacher comments saying he was a pleasure to have in class.
Gayle is two going on 16. At least it seems that way. She's quite the girlie. Every day she goes to the playroom and dresses in fancy princess gowns with fancy play high heeled shoes and a sparkly jewel studded crown on her head. Then she struts through the house with one hand on her hip clunking along as she goes with this huge big toothy smile- looking for compliments as she goes.. and she gets them. Gayle is a lot like I remember myself. Pretending and playing and demanding to be seen and heard. She's truly a two year old and a beautiful one as well.
We haven't had even one chance to fly a kite in the weather we've been having, but we have made /decorated the gingerbread houses .. fun project.
Tomorrow we shall color eggs. One of my very favorite things to do. The kids have Star wars kits, Dora the Explorer sets, and some with glitter to make them ultra glitzy. I boiled 5 dozen eggs today for just this craft I dont' think I've ever had kids do more than 6 apiece.. this should be interesting. We kind of ran out of time tonite.. so we'll go for it tomorrow.
Saturday there is an Easter Egg Hunt at the other grandparent's home.. the kids will have much fun and we shall be joining them.
Our plan is to head back home on Saturday night late. We enjoyed our drive out here in the middle of the night and figured we'd repeat it on the way home.
Oh, I almost forgot.. the kids painted tee shirts for their cousins back home- wait till you see them- they are wonderful!
We had fresh trout for supper tonite. It was delicious. Wendy also made a white chicken chili which was very good.
It's time for bed right now- Cory puts the kids to bed nightly. Isaac wanted a 'conference' with his dad.. and was granted just that. The girls are presently tucked into their parent's bed- with Gaylie jumping up and running out about every 2 1/2 minutes with "Daddy.. I have to tell you something".. Cory is very patient with them and puts her back to bed. She's very active.
Typical 2 yr old. Hehehe
Wendell, Cory, Wendy and Eli are watching tv.. I'm sitting here trying to catch up with the weeks events..
Having a wonderful time......
