Squirrels scurry.... so do people... and that's the state of mind I'm in today. So much to accomplish, and so little time to do it. And so I'm scurrying...
Yesterday Wendell saw his PCP and is now scheduled for an echocardiogram next week as well as a chest Xray and pulmonary function tests before the end of the month. We both have to see the eye doctor in about 2 weeks too. We stopped and got his meds he needed at the pharmacy, and then to Klings' to get his wheelchair ordered and scheduled for a CPAP mask for today.
He just got back with his new mask.. AMEN. We are a CPAP family now.
Office is tomorrow, and the patients need called.. there are a lot. Today I also have to get us packed to make a short trip to Valentines for Eli's first birthday. WOOHOO!
The plan is to leave tomorrow as soon as office is done, and then return Monday since Wendell's echo is Tuesday.
I have to go back to Butler today for a few items to take with us tomorrow.
Wendell says there was a new 1" of snow all over the car this morning... thankfully it's stopped at that point or our trip could be canceled.
There is a 50-50 chance (that means they just don't know) of showers for our trip whether we go tomorrow evening or Friday.. We'll just plan on it and be pleasantly surprised if we don't hit rain on the way.
Going to Valentines is a major ordeal for us. Where others make the trip in 5-6 hours, we stop often and really take our time.. so it takes us 7 hours usually.
Wendell's doctor says he HAS to lose weight.. no choices here. We both need to lose some pounds, but his is really becoming life threatening if he doesn't get it under control. So the first week of April, Wendy is going to take Wendell for a month and work on his diet, exercise, and other things. She can use the extra set of hands with the children, and he needs regulated.. so the trip will be beneficial for everyone. I'd make the long visit myself, but I have office every Thursday and until I am 62 in a few years, I can't let this source of income lapse. It's an economic thing.
His new wheelchair will arrive after lunch today. Let's pray he doesn't have to use it a lot. .. and that he'll lose the weight and be able to walk longer distances without it in the future. He got his Handicap placard, and that has been very helpful already.
While he is gone, I plan to completely overhaul our two rooms .. something we haven't been able to do while we are occupying the space we have. It'll be good. I may call on my children for a little help..they have offered to do so, but presently it's not possible when it will take a week to make the space in the smaller room to get organized. When it's done, it should be livable until our new place is built.
There is method to this madness... sounds like a plan. Pray it all works together well..
