What a strange day... the weather was so crazy.. It started full force at 2pm with snow.. big fluffy flakes coming down heavily.. and from the east too which indicates a bad storm. By 3pm it was changing to ice.. sleet and ice. It stuck to everything. At 4pm the rain started.. then the ice again.. Right now it looks cold and icy outside. The picnic table has no real accumulation at the moment, but that's because of the rain in between, .. but it has waves of ice on top... odd.
The weather service says 4-6" now.. by tomorrow evening (Saturday). Winter is sure hanging on with all it's got.. but spring will prevail..soon..very soon.
Wendell and I got up super early today and planned. We planned to go to breakfast and then pick up my meds at the pharmacy, fill the tank with gas (a new record of $27!!!), deposit my paycheck and make our next to the last car payment, and then go for supplies and groceries.
We accomplished it all before noon. Whew!!!
I worked a bit in the kitchen and got all the dishes washed and the table sort of cleaned off, and then later got supper.. we opted for some soup from the freezer, German potato pancakes, and Wendell had a hot ham/cheese grilled sandwich. We decided it was pretty good.
We are warm, comfortable, and have no complaints for now.. I'm sure you are all glad to hear that!

We have planned our first 'retirement outing' for next week by going to Valentines after office Thursday.. spend 5 days and come back the following Tuesday. If the weather continues, and it looks like it might, we will postpone our trip till the next week. Bummer. It's Eli's first birthday coming up, and we wanted to be there for that.
We have plans to go for Isaacs and Esther/Gayle's birthdays also..by doing the same maneuver- leaving right after office and coming home the next Tuesday. Hmmmmmm.... The weather just might throw a monkey wrench into the works for this time.

As for the right now.. we shall lay low and wait out the storm..
