BONE CHILLING..

Good morning bloggers! It's a chilly damp day here. Brrrrrr... I haven't been able to get warmed up since yesterday~kinda chilled to the bone despite a long sleeved shirt and a heavy robe.

Mandy must be feeling some better as her car is gone and that's a good sign she's back to work today. I suspect she had some kind of virus. I believe I may have one too.. I spent nearly all day yesterday sleeping..aching..chilling.. nauseated. hmmmm

It's Saturday, September 30.. the very last day of the month. Sad to see it go..it seemed to fly by so quickly. Tomorrow begins a new month promising more bone chilling weather and a hint of winter to come. It was in the low 40s this morning.. but only to get to the mid 50s today with rain.

It's a quiet morning.. Wendell is sleeping yet.. but it's time for me to rise and shine and get on with the day.
Gainful employment is high on the list of 'todo's today. I'll be hitting the shower momentarily.

Have a great day everyone..uphold us with prayer.. and remember others who have health issues.. Nicki and Uncle Bob.
Janet from our church.. there are many others

SAY KIDS, WHAT DAY IS IT?

IT'S BUBBLE GUM DAY !!!! WOOHOO !!
Yes, today our nation is recognizing the fine art of chewing bubblegum. Bubblegum hasn't been one of my favorite pastimes, but chewing gum certainly is. I love to chew gum much to my dentist's dislike.
The act of chewing gum I believe is a stress reliever. I'm not chewing anyone out when I'm chewing my gum.
It freshens the breath and whitens the teeth... so says the package... and I believe that is also true.
Sometimes a mint gum will settle a minor upset stomach.
As a child I remember loving to buy DoubleBubblegum.. and then you got a comic on the inside of the wrapper. Oh.. I'm showing my age here I'd wager... Do they still sell Double Bubblegum with the comics?
And I remember walking to Johnson's store and buying Bubblegum Cards..you got a square of bubblegum with a card inside.. sort of like baseball cards.. Brother Bill saved the baseball cards. I think it was Jane who saved Davy Crockett Cards.. and both had quite the collection.

IT'S FRIDAY !

HOORAY FOR FRIDAY !! It means the weekend is with us.
Unfortunately for me, or fortunately, looking at it from a mercenary point of view, I will be gainfully employed. I have to remind myself periodically that employment = health insurance which we vitally need.

So, did you all stay warm last night? Our temperature was in the low 40s.. and the expected high is only 54. We are on the downward slide into winter..

Mandy has the latest virus going around.. she's been miserable with sinusitis for several days, and today she's looking ghastly and has taken the day off. I'm trying hard NOT to get that virus. I'll have the Clorox out today and then the Lysol..

JJ has a post on things for which you are thankful.... I liked that idea.. perhaps visit her site and put your own items for thanksgiving there. I found it refreshing to be able to list 10 things.. uplifting. I could have gone on for 150 items, but I think that would be overwhelming for one to read through... though the thanksgiving is sincere.

It's morning. Wendell left for work some time ago. I've been reading- again. My real temptation is to just go back to bed for another hour or so. I'm still sleepy. But I need to work on my office schedule for my patients. It's still not quite right.

Well..... Off to begin my day.. lots to accomplish.
Have a fabulous day.. remember to pray.. be thankful and let your requests be known to the Father

HOW DO YOU WORSHIP THE LORD?

The great thing about owning a blog is that one can express their own opinion. One can state what they believe is true and right. Today I want to do that in regard to worship. I'm not an authority on scripture, obviously, but I know that which I have been taught by those who are in authority.

"Now therefore hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and unto the judgments, which I teach you, for to do them, that ye may live, and go in and possess the land which the LORD God of your fathers giveth you. Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you" (Deut. 4:1-2).

According to the Westminster Confession of Faith ~
"The whole counsel of God concerning all things necessary for His own glory, man's salvation, faith and life, is either expressly set down in Scripture, or by good and necessary consequence may be deduced from Scripture: unto which nothing at any time is to be added, whether by new revelations of the Spirit, or traditions of men . . . and that there are some circumstances concerning the worship of God, and government of the Church, common to human actions and societies, which are to be ordered by the light of nature, and Christian prudence, according to the general rules of the Word, which are always to be observed."

The prescription for worship is explicit in Old Testament scripture. They were given the direction by God and followed it to the letter. Any deviance from that direction had dire consequences.
Even so, we are in the New Testament times given directives by the Authority of God for what will be included in worship.
We have no license to change that which the Lord has given as example.
Embellishing is not an option nor man's opinion of what is pleasing to God or tradition.

"What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it" (Deut. 12:32).

The church dares not to 'offer strange fire' to the Lord. It is an offense to Him.
Whatsoever is not commanded is forbidden.
Remember Uzzah? There are many examples of this in scripture.
God is omnipotent- we have no right to change His directives.Indeed it is the height of arrogance to think that man can 'make worship more interesting' by invoking changes to what God has prescribed.
God knows the ways of man- give him an inch and he'll take a yard or more.. If you change one item.. you find through history that man eventually makes the changes permanent as if the law of God.
Chaos reigns as no one can really draw the line on the things permitted.
The church that deviates from the Regulative Principle has created a problem.. where do you stop? How do you stop? Worship becomes a circus and the farthest thing from what God has designed.
Our focus becomes lost.. that of worship of our Savior. It's lost in the entertainment with the focus on man.
Following God's directives for worship means that you can attend any church on Sabbath and fit right in. No questions of what is acceptable in His presence- if all follow the prescription He has given. No one would feel uncomfortable with the variations.. nothing added, and nothing removed. One is able to focus on Christ without distraction.
So here is what God requires as per scripture. There are many other supportive verses..I have chosen one for each item:

Preaching of the Word
(Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.2 Timothy 4:2)

Reading of the Word
(13Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching. I Timothy 4:13)

Meeting on the Lord's Day
(7On the first day of the week we came together to break bread. Paul spoke to the people and, because he intended to leave the next day, kept on talking until midnight. Acts 20:7)

Administering the Sacraments
(24and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, "This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me." 25In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me." 26For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes. I Corinthians 11:24-26)

Hearing the Word
(25But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it—he will be blessed in what he does. James 1:25)

Prayer
(6Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Philippians 4:6)

Sing Psalms(
16Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. Colossians 3:15)

The place and hour of worship is left to our circumstances. Certainly, going to the House of the Lord would lead us to wear clothes that are appropriate, again, according to our circumstances.
God does not look at the outward appearance of man, but the heart that is open to Him, ready to receive His Word.

TAKING ONE DAY AT A TIME

That should be the rule.. one day at a time. When I try to do more than that, I get very poor results. I am presently trying to schedule my patients around Thanksgiving. My office day is Thursday and so is Thanksgiving. Juggling has never been one of my best things.. but I try.

I was looking at the weather report this morning.. Lake Blair may make an appearance once again. I may be too tired to take that picture by the time it appears.. sorry.. one of these days.

Our visit with the attorney last night was very productive. By next week all should be settled.

I'm needing to get moving .. time is of the essence this morning. I'm ready to go as far as being dressed, but still have to pull all the paperwork together and then stop for breakfast at Bubba's.. that's David's name for McDonalds. Wonder how many TFAs are in an Egg McMuffin?
Does it bother you that Big Brother is trying to control what you eat?? I'm glad they are all into healthy choices, but the next thing you know, we'll all be eating grass because they think it's 'good for everyone'.. DUH
In our family, we have been making some healthy choices as far as food is concerned.. and the results are staggering in the bloodwork.. with the help of some pretty powerful medication too. I don't think I need BB telling me what is good and what isn't.. give me the facts and the statistics and I'll make my own choices, thank you very much.

I'm off my soapbox and on to better things.......
Thank you for all your prayer support. It is so precious to us. Pray for our nation and those who lead.. Pray for us with our health issues and that we make wise choices for our future.
Remember Nicki and Uncle Bob too who struggle with their health issues.
Give thanks that God has provided a skilled vet for little Heidi.. that she is improving. Heidi is the little dog who belongs to our friends in Maryland.
Pray without ceasing !! We do the same for you.

OUR CORNER OF THE WORLD

John came home this morning and told me something was 'going on' out on our road. I thought at first the township was finally here to get ready to lay sewage lines..Inquisitive person that I am (some call it nosey).. I took a long overdue walk to the garden~ camera in hand. Well, I don't think it was the township.. I saw a W&F tanker coming out of Doug and Judy's driveway.. I think their driveway was being paved before winter.
I stood on the porch and took this picture of the trucks in front of our place~ I noticed the temperature, the blue sky without any clouds to speak of, and that the air had a smell of fall. I also noticed the briar patch (some call it the berry patch or home of the groundhog) was turning a rusty color. Hmmmm

So I walked out closer to the garden and noticed that the red raspberries are producing again.. I believe this is the 3rd time this year. They are called everbearing, but usually produce 2 crops during the spring/late summer. The morning glories are taking over a section of them.. Charlie says we need to move them for next year.

Even so, that didn't stop me from picking a handful and enjoying them as I continued my walk. Mmmmmmm!!!!
The early spring ones and the ones today had no Japanese beetles. That makes them pleasant to pick.

The weight of this sunflower head has caused it to bend over severely. Their stalk has to be like wood to hold the whole plant up. These will become feed for the chickens.. and a few for a couple of grandchildren for a snack later this fall.
Another Mmmmmmm.. toasted sunflower seeds!

Though everything seems to be reaching it's peak and more, the flowers still are about as beautiful as they were in the early summer. Surrounded by weeds, but still flourishing. At this point, their only usefulness is for the eye. The tomatoes and other crops are pretty much done.

Back at home, the burning bush by the side of the house is beginning to live up to it's name. In a short few weeks it will be a brilliant red.. flaming, if you will..

Meanwhile, I turned toward the woods and saw the reddish tint on the trees.. Soon, very soon, these will also be brilliantly colored.. we just have to wait for the frost to begin the metamorphosis.

Back in front of the house, the impatiens are still flourishing as the flowers are in the garden. I love the flowers. They make me smile with their beauty. These are simple and colorful. That's a pot of spearmint in front of the impatiens. It grows nearly wild here. We tried to contain it... we'll see next spring how well we've done.

TULIP

This morning I've been doing some reading again.. this time on the views of John Calvin.

John Calvin , who lived at the time of Luther's Reformation in the 1500s, formulated a system of theology which I also share.
He takes a serious view of scripture as the infallible Word of God, adhering to it solely for all discussions- focusing on the Sovereignty of God at all times.
Scripture teaches that God by his Sovereign Grace has predestined the elect to salvation.
He regenerates us to where we desire Him, and it's not possible to lose our redemption.

Calvin states his theology in 5 critical points, though certainly there is more.

Total depravity-
"among whom we also all once lived in the lust of our flesh, doing the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest."
Ephesians 2:3

"For from within, out of the hearts of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, sexual sins, murders, thefts, covetings, wickedness, deceit, lustful desires, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, and foolishness. All these evil things come from within, and defile the man."
Mark 7:21-23

Unconditional Election-
"For being not yet born, neither having done anything good or bad, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him who calls"
Romans 9:11
" For he said to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion. So then it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who has mercy."
Romans 9:15-16
Some are elected to salvation, some are not.

Limited Atonement-"
"I pray for them. I don't pray for the world, but for those whom you have given me, for they are yours" John 17:9
Jesus prayed for the elect, not the whole world.
He died for the elect- Isaiah says at Jesus crucifixion 'he bore the sins of many'.. not everyone.

Irresistable Grace-
" But as many as received him, to them he gave the right to become God's children, to those who believe in his name:who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God."
John 1:12,13
By the working of the Holy Spirit within our hearts and minds, the elect are called and cannot resist. We come of our own free will repenting of our sins and are regenerated.
God calls, we answer.

Perseverance of the Saints-
"being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ"
Philippians 1:6
You can't lose your salvation.

PREDESTINED

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.
For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight.
In love he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves."
Ephesians 1:3-6

DEJA VOUS

I've been listening to the news on the radio... over and over playing comments by a former high ranking official in our land.
It reminded me of this.... Genesis 3:12,13: "the man said ' the woman you put here with me, she gave me some fruit from the tree and I ate it'.
Then the Lord God said to the woman 'What is this you have done?' and the woman said 'the serpent deceived me and I ate'".
Passing the 'buck' and not taking responsibility for our actions.. we are all so human.
Another picture to remind us of summer.. beautiful flowers and the butterflies.. lots of them this year.
It's such a lovely day today. The temperature is moderate and no rain.. Lake Blair is not even slightly wet. Hooray! One of these days I'll have to take a picture of the spot in the driveway that fills so full with water during hard rain that it looks like a lake.

Gainful employment is the plan for the day. Last evening was a fairly good one. I still don't understand the mentality that transfers patients out of one room and replaces them with another one or two.. mind boggling by times. I guess there is rhyme and reason to it, but it is escaping me right now. But I do the job I am required to do without complaint.. well, not much complaint anyway. I'm tired this morning.... so what else is new?
Well, I can't see my ankles YET, but they are there.. I'm sure of it. I noticed that my socks left indentations right above my ankles... there is still fluid there that needs to be taken off. No change in my weight today.. still at 10# of fluid weight loss.. You know, that's a lot of fluid.
I would estimate that there is still about 5#+ fluid on my legs.. excess fluid that is.
So I watch every morsel that crosses my lips..... low sodium is not my favorite.. rather blah.

Are you ready for October? It's coming swiftly. It'll be here in a week or less. Yike! Where did 2006 go? It seemed to fly by so fast.. soon it will be Christmas.. just a little over 12 weeks till it arrives!

No birthdays today to report.. September is a fairly quiet month.

For those who care, Wendell and I have an appointment with an attorney in Butler on Wednesday. He sounds like he'll help us without gouging our checkbook. Yes, that was a concern. We are transferring property, and this appointment will be to discuss the positives and negatives of the transfer the way we want to pursue it. It's a big step for us.. relinquishing the property we own in this world.. but we have no difficulty doing so.
So I ask for prayer for us as we take this giant step in our lives.. pray the attorney will be able to help us make the transfer without problem... that there will be no glitches along the way.
Pray that the entire procedure would be agreeable to all and that the outcome would be very positive. Posted by Picasa

RUNNING THE RACE

"Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.
Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training.
They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly;
I do not fight like a man beating the air. No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize."
I Corinthians 9:24-27

We are called to look hard at our spiritual life. Are we vigorously participating in the game, barely keeping pace, or merely watching from the stands?

AUTUMN IS HERE

Autumn is here.. so many gorgeous trees with leaves turning. I suppose we won't be seeing much of these sunflowers in the near future.. but they sure were beautiful.

The power was off for a few hours in the wee hours of the morning. It's always a stressor here- Wendell couldn't get ready for work and missed a day because of it. My CPAP stopped and woke me up gasping for breath.. I took it off and tried to sleep, but this morning I have such a headache. Apnea is likely the culprit.
Seems like the power has been going off and on about 2-3 times a week. That's a lot.

The weather report for today is supposed to be a sunny/partly cloudy one.. the high of 64. In the past 10 minutes the temperature has gone from 46 to 51. Looks like the day is well on it's way.
As for me, I'll be gainfully employed and need to hit the shower. Have a super fabulous day all..
Pray.. pray for us and for Nicki and Uncle Bob. Pray for our world leaders-- for hearts turned to Jesus. And pray for peace among all people.. that all would recognize Jesus and respond to his message of salvation.

IT'S STEVE'S BIRTHDAY TODAY !

BIRTHDAY WISHES FOR UNCLE BOB

HAPPY BIRTHDAY UNCLE BOB!
AND MANY MORE...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NATHAN..

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NATE !

This was taken in 2000 just before leaving for a trip to California..
Ray, Becky, Nate, Great Gramma Imm
Nate is 14 today !!

AS FOR ME AND MY HOUSE....

I've been doing a lot of thinking. Sometimes that's a dangerous thing, but today I have my mind set on something I believe the Holy Spirit has placed on my heart.
So much talk of global war and a Muslim takeover of this country in which we live. So just suppose we were overtaken for a moment..The rule of the day would most certainly be to round up all the Christians and murder them.. men, women, and children regardless of age. My burning question is:
Would there be enough evidence to prove that I/YOU were a Christian?
Would I be enough threat to be among the first rounded up?
Am I just a lukewarm follower of Jesus, or am I boiling hot and eager to spread the gospel message that Jesus lives and has provided a salvation- a way out- for all mankind through his resurrection?
Would I have enough fortitude to be martyred for Jesus?
Being a Christian living example is only the beginning. There are a lot of people out there living a 'good example' who are not believers in Christ. They will lose in the end as much as the overt Satanist.
Horrors ! you say? It's per scripture "believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved".
It's not enough to be a good example.
I think back to when I was a teenager. My Mom said to me one day "be very careful what you do and say- there are people of which you are unaware who are watching you and want to be like you."
It's good advice. When I look back, I wish I'd had a stronger testimony for Jesus. I wonder sometimes what opportunities I had to present the gospel to someone and missed it because of one thing or another.. Alas, I cannot change history.
The evidence of the Holy Spirit living in you is ordered by scripture.. " The fruit of the Spirit refers to the virtues of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness (meekness, humility) and self-control.
When you display irresponsible behaviour, pride, expressions of enmity, lack of love, and other works of the flesh (Galatians. 5:19-21), you are lacking the fruit of the Spirit.
If you have been born again by the power of the Holy Spirit, you are eligible to receive the things of the Spirit of God. You must be willing to let the Holy Spirit produce these virtues within you (Gal. 5:22,23). "
Prayer is a vital ingredient here. I find myself praying all day long.
As your name or situation comes to my mind, I am praying for God's intervention in your life. We are instructed to pray without ceasing.. it comes naturally when you view the Father as just that- the omnipotent omnipresent being that He is. Awesome!
Almost daily I ask you to pray for me and for Wendell and some of our family or friends having difficulties in life.. I do this because I believe in the power of prayer. We've had too many prayers answered to not believe that they are effectual.
Have you ever had the experience of having your prayer answered as the words come from your lips?
Give thanks and praise to the Lord who has provided every little detail in your life.. bringing things and people together His way. Delaying you so you are protected from danger..So often I think..
"Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?"
I remember that I am loved by God and give thanks for that.
I acknowledge that the property upon which my earthly home sits does not belong to me, but has been lent to me for a season till I go to my heavenly home where God is preparing a place for me.
I've had the experience of not having a clue what to do next.. and being thrust into the arms of the Lord in blind faith. Awesome experience!!!
God is active in our lives.. we're a work in progress.. not good, but loved and saved from the wrath to come.
We reach out to him as a child reaches to his parent and trusts that parent to protect and give safety, and security. And just like a child, when we are hurt or fall down, we run to His arms for comfort.
No greater love could be expressed than someone who is willing to give his life for you. This is what Jesus did. All He requires is that you believe it.. and then live it.
Life is tough sometimes. We take abuse as Christians. We are living in a land that our forefather's claimed as 'One nation UNDER GOD'.. but that seems to be the farthest thing from our leader's minds these days.
Our constitution says we have the freedom to worship the Lord as we please..this was to prevent a 'national religion' from being installed.. but slowly, we now have a national religion.. called atheism.. denying God his glory and honor in our land.
Christians are denied the right to pray in public places. We should be alarmed... but there is apathy here.
Christians need to be awake and alert to what is happening around them.. and pray.
Enough said.

BE SILENT, AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD

"God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.…
Be silent, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation.
I will be honored throughout the world.
The Lord Almighty is here among us; the God of Israel is our fortress."
Psalm 46:1,10-11 NLT

DORIS ELLEN BLAIR

I thought I might mention that today would be the day of birth of Wendell's sister that he never knew. She would have been 71 today. Doris was born prematurely when Wendell's Mom developed scarlet fever. She was deathly ill..the baby did live for an hour or two, but died that day. She is buried at North Union Cemetery.

A FUN DAY BEGINS

This morning Wendell and I had the pleasure of taking our grandkids and their parents to the park where Wendell works.
It was a super long trip for all of us.
This was one of the sights along the way.. the rail yard at Conway PA. There is currently a major landslide onto to the railroad tracks a bit farther south. This has tied up the railroad severely. All the signal lights are flashing red..
The Ohio River is on the other side of the tracks.

What once freaked me out totally is now a simple pleasure of life. At Ambridge, we crossed the Ohio River. I tried to get a picture of the 2 tug boats below us, but all I got in my photos was girders. Rats!
The kids ooooohhhed and awwwwwed at the tugs. They looked so huge below us.

A DAY AT RACCOON STATE PARK

After 2 hours of travel and kids asking "are we there yet?" "are we getting closer?"....... we finally arrived where Wendell works every day.. Raccoon Creek State Park. It's a beautiful place covering 7500+ acres of woodland, streams, lake and beach. Lots of campsites and cabins, and plenty of wildlife.
Wendell was anxious to show us all a beaver dam close up.. no beavers, just their handiwork.
This is the supposed 'home' of the beavers.. inside this old sycamore tree.

Look at how perfectly straight that dam is. This is on Traverse Creek inside the park.
Paul said he saw birdhouses high in the trees. It turned out he was looking at bat boxes. They use these to encourage the bats to move into rather than the cabins.

LUNCH AT THE REC HALL

Today was the Volunteer Award Banquet at the park. Wendell was told to invite his family if he desired, and he did. We took Paul, Amy and the kids. This was their first visit to Raccoon Creek State Park.
The food was more than fabulous.. just excellent in every way.

Finally some time for the kids to play on some slides and swings ..That's David heading up the slide steps with Joyce behind him.
And Daniel in the red sweats

TURTLE EGGS

We decided to take a look at where the snapping turtles had laid eggs and hatched them. On the way, there were huge mountains all along the road. These are ant hills.

The kids found the turtle nests. Actually they aren't nests at all, but just holes in the ground where the Mama turtle deposits a ton of eggs. The shells are all that remain. Joyce is holding one.. the eggs look a lot like ping pong balls, but have more of a leathery feel.. soft.
The boys are looking at these 'nests'.. just depressions in the earth.

ON TO THE BEACH

This is the spot where Wendell put the big lawn tractor into the lake this past week. You cannot appreciate the steepness of this bank. It is nearly straight down. Quite a drop-off.

Here's Raccoon Wendell on the beach today relaxing.. no mowing.
He was watching David in the swing. David seemed to really love the swings here at the park.

The swimming area from a distance

FROWNIE MASKS

A fine ending to a fine day.... we stopped on the way home at Kings Restaurant for supper. Our waitress gave the kids Frownie masks.. they loved them!

Some adults just never grow up..

PRAYER

"I prayed to the Lord, and he answered me, freeing me from all my fears. Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy; no shadow of shame will darken their faces. I cried out to the Lord in my suffering, and he heard me. He set me free from all my fears. For the angel of the Lord guards all who fear him, and he rescues them. "
Psalm 34:4-7 NLT

MUST BE A GOOD DAY

It must be a good day.. things are looking up here. I got on the scales today and have lost 5 more pounds of fluid. I knew there was a loss~ my feet are looking more like MY feet.. I have very small ankles for my size, and though I can't see them yet, they are definitely moving in that direction. I think about how much 5# is..... a sack of sugar/flour.. balance one on your legs..makes you tired pretty quick, eh? Now imagine 2 of them.. 5# on each leg and hold them there... no wonder my back ached and my legs too. And there is still swelling- more to lose yet.

If I'm not too badly mistaken, today is the autumn equinox~ fall is officially here. Yesterday I had to go shopping and as I drove down the road, I saw signs for local apples for sale. Sure sign of fall...... not to mention the reddish color to many of the trees. In another week or two, they will all be beautiful colors of autumn. God provides all the seasons each with a glorious beauty of their own.
It's 48 degrees this morning with a promised high of 68. Yep, fall is here. Typical weather. I'll be getting the little heater out soon to take the chill off the bedroom in the morning. We've already been doing that in the bathroom in the morning.

Today I am gainfully employed. It's Friday, and that means the hospital will discharge half of the patients the first 4 hours of my shift, and then start admitting the second 4 hours. It happens weekly..like clockwork.

Saturday Wendell is excited about taking us to the park for a picnic. I'm looking forward to it also. He came home yesterday with the report that he'd put the big lawn tractor in the lake. Well, not as bad as it sounds.. just the back wheels. Something to do with a drive shaft that was supposed to be repaired but wasn't. They may have him wear a life jacket to mow grass in the future. Hehehehe..

Time to get moving here. Remember prayer for us and for our family, Nicki, and Uncle Bob, and Janet too. We all appreciate your love and care for us. And don't forget our world leaders including our President and Congress.
