Though all federal offices including the post office will be closed today in honor of Veteran's Day, tomorrow is the official day. This week has been "Veteran's Week", and today there is a parade in Butler. I won't be attending, but many will.
Wendell always appreciated the yearly call from our son in law Cory.. to thank him for his service to our country.
Wendell is a veteran of the Viet Nam War. Our son in law Keith is also a veteran.. but you can check out JJ's blog to hear about where he's been. I'm sure she'll let us know.
Thanks, Keith, for your service !
How do you thank a vet? Pick up the phone and dial the number. Then say "Thank you for your faithful service". Simple. Lots of them will be in uniform this weekend.. walk up and shake their hand. .. or pay for their lunch. Send a thank you note..
Okay.. everyone knows at least one vet.. get busy.
How many can you name? I know my Uncles on my mother's side of the family all served in WW2.. Uncle Bob, Uncle Tom, Uncle George..they are gone now, but because of them and others, we are a strong nation. My Uncle Bob, Uncle Babe, Uncle Ted, Uncle Cam, cousin Kathy, cousin Joe, Ken, Eddie, and Lennie.. all vets. And Andrew, though not a combat vet, still served in the US Army for many years faithfully.
Who do you know that you can thank??

Our cousins, Bill Kremer and Bobby served also. I am sure there are more.
