Our family is saddened by the loss of a cousin yesterday:

PENN TWP — A farmer was killed Wednesday when a hay wagon ran over him.Jeffrey Hixon, 41, of 105 Distillery Road was working with his father, Wayne, on Brownsdale Road, cutting corn for silage at about 5:30 p.m.When the wagon was full, Hixon unhitched it from a tractor and it began to move.Hixon was killed as he tried to control the wagon and it rolled over him.Butler County Coroner Bill Young III said this morning that the cause of death was from multiple blunt force traumas.Penn Township police and volunteer fire departments, as well as the Butler Ambulance Service, were called to the scene.
